On that date the oity has obligations to meet that can not be postponed. Three hundred tax fifas are already in the hand of the City Clerk, and will be de livered to the Marshal next week for execution. But it is desired to avoid this method of collection if possible and save to the tax-payers any additional cost; therefore this urgent appeal is made for the prompt payment of taxes and wa ter rents. No good citizen who cares for the credit of the city will fail to respond promptly to this cuil. W. J. THE HUSTLER OF ROME MONDAY OCTOBER 21 1895 KftTIE PUTNAM “The Old Lime Kiln,” in which the popular comedienne, Kattie Putnam, will be seen at the Nevin opera house here next Thursday night is a sensational comedy drama in which the several ele ments of successful dramatic pro ductions have been deftly and adroitly handled. Its author, C. T. Dazey, whose companion play, “In Old Ken tucky” has been the greatest suc cess of a decade, has furnished a story of vivid and novel interest, embellished with striking inci dents, unique characterizations and sustained dramatic vigor. The action of the piece is largely in the Yellowstoi e National Park, and this fact has been taken advantage of to add the element of scenic beauty and picturesqueness. It furnishes a field hitherto un worked and no expense has been spared in transferring the wild beauty and attractiveness of the scenery of the Yellowstone, to the stage. Miss Putnam has a charac- I ter to depict that is full of lovely qualities, and the well-known per fection of her art as an actress en ables her to give it the requisite touches of true sympathy. Herbert Cawthorn, than whom no more popular Irish Comedian graces the stage, is prominent in the Company and adds an infinite fund tt> the humor of the presenta -11 ion. Usual prices, s ats on sale at Dille’s under the opera house. IT IS £ FACT. that The Atlanta Daily Consti u t on during the next ninety days will be a larger and a greater pa per than it has ever been before. ' During that time it will print over B,(X/0 COLUMNS, containing the news from all parts of the world. There is not a city in the universe from which the w res are not freighted with news for T .e Constitution. iF1.75 ’ bent in this week will pay for this vast volumn of reading matter run ning to the first of the new year. This is less than 2 cents for each paper, and amounts to fifty col umns for 1 cent! The period to be covered by this three months will be fruitful in history-making. THE NEXT PRESIDENCY, involving so much of moment to the uii.z- ns, will be largely deter mined by the opening days of con gress, which begins its session in December.
