Here’s an item from the edit - rial columns of that first-cla? weekly, the North Geornift Citi zen, in which Col Frank Reynold - voices my sentiments: “Something should be done t get telephone connection of Da ton with Rome and Springplace.' * * * Editors Freeman & Chapin n of that unterrified d mocratn sheet, the Courant American, put: it thusly: “The ern tic young man fron Rome who is running for govern i claims to be a better d>.mociu than Atkinson.” Seab did profess to be a demo crat along buck in 1888 and 189 U ami even to late as 181)2 he was calling on heaven to witness th* purity of his democracy. *. * Governor Atkinson aaj s that Hon. Mr. Dunn, is proprietor of a paying grocery store in East Rome. His dwelling is next door to his store. Last evening when Mr. Dunn went to his supper he closed the front door and locked it. While at supper some sneak thi- f entered the rear store door, and rifled the money til! of a pocketbook coi taining SBS- * * * Mr. Dunn discovered his loss some time after he entered the store and gave the alarm.
