The Greeks, it is jaid. at tacked and captured Fort Aghia, taking.4oo Mussulmans prisoners . Among the number are 100 Turkish troop, the remainder of theprison ners being Moslems, who had' re fuged in the fort. Details of the engagement are lacking. One report states that no fightipg occurred, the garrison sur rending upon the demand of the-. Greek commander. As no mention of any losses is made in any cf the dispatches, it is surmised that this report is true. Notwithstanding the reports that the powers would take concerted action to prevent Greece from ta king futher hostile actions in Crete fl’arli'e preparations are being made with all possible dispatch. In addition to the “corps of oc cupation’’already on the island which corps numbers 1,500 men of all arms, one other regiment em barked upon a transport and sai’- ed for Crete tonight. Another regi ment will sail thenc 'omorrow. The government is prepairing for every possible contingency and has summoned two classes of the naval reserve for active service. She people ate in a frenzy of ex-1 citement and demand that the I Cretan questions be settled now for all time. It is popularly thought that when the powers find the annexation of the island, waich i»reece has in view, an ac complished fact, they will readily acquiesce in this spoliation of the Turk. Tampa, Fla., 17 —The Floiida Brewing company’s new brewery opened yesterday for business and celebrated the event by a fr< e barbecue and free distribution of beer in the afternoon. Edwardo Sandoval and Dan Hogan got into a dispute over a mug of beer at the barbecue and Hog n broke the heavy earthen ves el over Sandoval’s head, and, when he fell, kicked him ; n the back, Sandoval has been uncon scious ever since and lies in the Emergency hospital. The physicians have no hopes of his recovery. He is suffering from serious internal injuries and concussion of the brain. Hogan has been placed in the county jail to await development. New York, Feb. 17. —Joseph A. lasigi, the Turkish consul gener al, who is charged with embezzle ment, was held in the Center streeet court today to await the ar rival of extradition papers from Boston. __________ Simon S.
