Cl PEOPLE'S PARTY ANALYZE FACTS
Offers you a platform that can and wiH be carried
out.
The Gl People's party pledges themselves:
1. To appoint negro police officers with plain clothes
men.
2. A negro woman probation officer in the Juvenile
. Court.
■3. A negro matron in the women's division of the
Ik police station.
■Better school system.
fire station in negro communities, with negro
firemen.
^6. A negro advisory committee to the Mayor.
■ Full co-operation with the negroes to see that their
constitutional rights are protected.
8. Decent administration of justice.
9. Decent police treatment and the fair operation on
the Police Court.
10. Better sanitation and living conditions.
Dr. Mark Gilbert, the mouthpiece for the unholy
three of the CPL composed of himself and Baker and
McGlockton prattles about the CPL being the colored
people's friend. He also attacks the motives of Aaron
Kravitch, who was in Savannah fighting for the ne
groes when Dr. Gilbert was still unknown in Savannah.
LET'S ANALYZE THE FACTS:
1. Mr. Aaron Kravitch denies that he ever made a
statement that he controlled 15,000 negro votes. They
now say he said "damn coons," WHO SAYS HE SAID
THAT? DR. GILBERT DOESN'T SAY HE HEARD HIM
SAY IT. THE TRUTH IS, HE NEVER SAID IT. CAN ANY
ONE WHO KNOWS THAT HE IS THE ONLY WHITE MAN
THAT EVER FOUGHT FOR US OPENLY WOULD MAKE
SUCH A STATEMENT. WHEN DR. GILBERT MAKES THIS
CHARGE, IT IS HIS POCKET BOOK SPEAKING AND NOT
HIS HEART. THEY CAN'T SAY ANYTHING AGAINST
MR. KRAVITCH. THEY CAN'T DENY WHAT HE HAS
DONE FOR OUR PEOPLE. SO THEY TRY TO INFLAME
WITH IRRESPONSIBLE, UNTRUE STATEMENTS KNOW
ING THAT IN THE CLOSING DAYS OF A POLITICAL
CAMPAIGN THEY CAN SAY ANYTHING THEY WISH
AND KNOW THEY CAN'T BE CALLED TO ACCOUNT.
2. The statement of Dr. Gilbert says that the CPL IS
PROMISING YOU THEY WILL FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT
TO VOTE. We dare them to make this statement in
the paper. DR. GILBERT IS SPEAKING OVER THE RA
DIO SATURDAY NIGHT WHERE WHITE AND BLACK
CAN HEAR HIM WE DARE HIM TO REPEAT THIS PROM
ISE OVER THE RADIO. WE DARE, DOUBLE DARE HIM.
3. THE CPL SPEAKS OF THEIR LOVE FOR YOU. HAVE
THEY EVER SHOWN IT EXCEPT TO THE FEW LEADERS
THAT ARE IN THEIR EMPLOY. THE Gl PEOPLE'S PAR
TY INVITED YOU AS GUESTS TO THEIR RALLY AT THE
AUDITORIUM. HAS THE CPL EVER MET YOU OPENLY
EXCEPT IN SOME DARK CORNER OR SECRET^ PLACE?
4. REMEMBER THAT THE DISTINGUISHED DR. GIL
BERT explains away the Talmadge convention. We
charge that when Mr. Talmadge came to Savannah
he was a guest as the home of Mr. Albert L. Cobb, the
unsavory leader of the CPL. LET DR. GILBERT DENY
THAT. WHY DID MR. COBB, WHO IS SUPPOSED TO
BE FIGHTING TALMADGE ENTERTAIN HIM AT HIS
HOME? MAYBE DR. GILBERT ALSO WAS THERE, WHO
KNOWS?
5. WHY HASN'T DR. GILBERT TOLD YOU THAT
NEARLY EVERY CPL LEADER WENT TO THE TALMADGE
CONVENTION. WHY DIDN'T HE TELL YOU THAT THE
TALMADGE CONVENTION UNANIMOUSLY VOTED TO
DISFRANCHISE YOU. Let's call the roll-LEWIS, COBB,
SKINNER, TANNER, JAVETZ, HARRISON, OLIVER, ROG-

ers, Griffin and all the other big wigs in that

5.6. WHY DIDN'T DR. GILBERT TELL YOU THAT Mc-
GLOCKTON'S LAW TEACHER IS THE CHIEF COOK AND
BOTTLE WASHER FOR JUDGE C. E. ALEXANDER, TAL

and going to the convention as his delegate, Mr. Pratt

HASN'T DR. GILBERT TOLD YOU
THE SAME GENTLEMAN WHO TOLD YOUR MINISTERS,
with profanity in the Ghurch of Dr. Gilbert that the
- CPL does not promise the negroes a damn thing. His
vulgarity was so awful, that Dr. Holsey, our beloved
minister, told Mr. Lewis, "curse on Judge, you re in the
right church!"
Why hasn't Dr. Gilbert told you of that arch enemy
of the negroes, Mr. Skinner, who told a Federal Judge
in Bingham in April 1944, that the negroes were
only entitled to $l.OO a day?
WHO IS PAYING ALL THIS MONEY FOR DR. GILBERT
TO PUT IN PAID EDITORIALS AND RADIO SPEECHES.
HOW MUCH IS DR. GILBERT AND McGLOCKTON GET
TING. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE $1,700 they got last
time for their work?
At the last minute they got a few members of the
HUB to endorse the CPL. Don't be fooled. The mapor
ity of the HUB, disgusted with this so-called non-parti
san organization refused to attend the meeting of these
paid stooges.
LAST SUMMER NO LAWYER WOULD HELP US
AGAINST THE WHITE CRACKERS EXCEPT MR. KRA
VITCH WHERE WERE ALL THESE SO-CALLED LAWYER
FRIENDS THEN. WHO GOT BACK OUR TAX MONEY
FOR US. NOT JUDGE LEWIS OR MR. COBB. NOT
EVEN DR. GILBERT.
- DON'T FORGET POLICE COURT UNDER JUDGE JOR
DAN. WHO NEXT TO JUDGE JORDAN WAS OUR OP
PRESSOR. LET US TELL YOU. IT WAS DICK SMITH,
THE CLERK OF COURT WHO USED TO CALL US "NIGv
GAR, NIGGAR, NIGGAR." Do you know he is a big
shot in the CPL and is going back to the Police Court
as Clerk?
Do you know that Judge Seabrook, law partner of
John G. Kennedy, now running for Mayor on their
ticket, was the man that took away from you 25 years
ago you right to vote. AND WHO HELPED YOU GET
IT BACK. MR. KRAVITCH. DON'T FORGET THAL
Do you know that EASTER C. DANIELS, NOW RUN
NING ON THEIR TICKET, LED a big klan parade down
Bull Street when Mr. Kennedy's law partner was mayor
and Judge Seabrook refused to see a delegation of
your ministers who wanted to protest.
DOES DR. GILBERT KNOW THESE THINGS, OR IS
"GREEN" BLINDING HIM. IS THAT GENTLEMAN COL
OR BLIND OR ISN'T HE?
THE G. I. PEOPLE'S PARTY REPRESENTS BOYS AND
GIRLS WHO FOUGHT FOR YOU ON THE BATTLE FIELDS
WHILE COBB, LEWIS, SKINNER, TANNER, McGLOCK
TON, BAKER AND GILBERT WERE SITTING AT HOME
WITH A RADIO WARMING THEIR FEET. AREN'T THEY
FINE BIRDS TO BE HOLLERING VOTE FOR CPL, DOWN
WITH KRAVITCH, DOWN WITH ADAMS, DOWN WITH
ALL THE DECENT HITE FRIENDS OF SAVANNAH?
Why hasn't Dr. Gilbert told you that eight CPL aider
men belong to a first cousin of the Klan. Why? It's
because of the green in their ?
