Several of the larger plants in
the Chatham County Area will or
ganize bowling clubs in the near
future, representatives related to
Al McLean, Manager last week.
The bowling clubs will feature
three weeks of free instructions,
color slides on bowling, a match
with one of Hi Hat’s Instructors
and a local Professional Bowler
plus other projects.
This is definitely a “Learn To
Bowl Campaign” all clubs and or

Savannah, Ga., is being reassigned
to Plattsburgh AFB, N. Y., for
training and duty as a physical
conditioning specialist.
Airman Mcßride recently com
pleted United States Air Force
basic military training here.
He is a 1961 graduate of Tomp
kins High School.

SPORTSMANSHIP: In this day
of when misconduct and rowdyism
is the rule and not the exception
at athletics contest. And ecpeci
ally at such contests where the
rivalry is very keen, all Savan
nahians can be very proud of the
recent Beach — Sol C. Johnson
game.
No one can remember a larger
crowd at a high school game. This
added to the fact that the game
was closely contested all the way,
and the closeness of the seating of
the student bodies of the schools
could have been explosive. Not
nearly enough credit can be given
the faculties and coaches of both
schools for a job well done in
sportsmanship. After the game
members of both teams were seen
congratulating each other.
Except for a very few minor in
cidents, the overflowing throng of
basketball fans enjoyed a thriller

ing city champs haven’t had a vic
tory this season and anything can
happen in these city rivalries as
evidenced by last Friday’s Beach-
Sol game.

FRIDA YNIGHT
St. Pius hustling 4 will take on
Liberty High in their Gym this
Friday night. The teams are
even so far thsi season at one
win apiece. This could be the
rubber match for them unless
they meet again in the District
tournament.
Savannah State will be home
