The Pearlettes
Bridge Club
Mrs. Willie Mae Ruth was host
ess on February 7, to the Pearl
ettes. Final plans for the dance
on February 15 were discussed. A
contribution was given to the E.
H. Gadsden campaign fund.
The Pearettes are enjoying the
suspense and deight of our heart
sisters. Willie Mae was a charm
ing hostess.
The next meeting will be at the

Trojans Social
Club
The Trojans met at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Young, 1429
Golden Street. The meeting was
presided over by the president,
Mrs. Elizabeth Davis. After the
transaction of business the raffle
was held and the winner was Mrs.
Amanda Lomax. We were happy
to welcome a new member, Mrs.
Earline Wesley. The hostess ser
ved a delicious repast.
Members present were Mr. and
Mrs. Willis Brown, Mr. Frank
Chisholm, Mrs. Edith Smith. The

Mr. Jones is married to Mrs.
Mary B. Jones and they have three

Baptist Usher
Union
The Baptist Ushers Union met
in their first meeting of the year
at Bethlehem Baptist Church with
the President Dea. Ben Wright
presiding. The devotion was very
uplifting. Scripture and prayer
by DeaD. DeVoe. Matt. 15:1-6.
Expressions from each officer
were very impressive. We were
very happy to introduce three new
Presidents namely Bro. Brinson of
Union Baptist No. 2 Board; Sis.’
Pryor of Tabernacle and Sis. Red
dick of Connor’s Temple.
Papaya Social
Club
The Papaya Social Club held
their regular meeting Wednesday
night, February 6 at the home of
Mrs. Addie Lee Sanders, 826 W.
44th Street. Presiding over the
meeting was the president, Mrs.
Mary L. Edders. After the busi
ness session a delicious repast was
served by the hostess and games
were played.
Members present were Mmes.
