The beautiful float was entered in the parade competition by Troop 252 of the Sandfly Community. Herbert H. Kemp is Scoutmaster of this fine scout unit. The troop Queen seen on the float is Miss Sandra Golden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Golden, Jr. (Names of the Cub and Scouts not available at this writing). The second-place float was a scene of Fort Scouting manned by sub scout soldiers. This float was entered by Pack 263 of St. Phillips A. M. E. Church. Leaders are: Mesdames: Dora Kelsey, Arna T. Cooper, Edna Deloach and Cubmaster Earnest Gre ^ne. First place among the marching units was taken by Troop 239 of 2nd Arnold Baptist Church. Solomon Hamilton and Fred Truell are Scoutmaster and Assistant, respectively. The second-place marchnig unit award goes to Troop 262 of First Evergreen Baptist Church — Edward Maxwell, Scoutmaster.
