The subject of the lesson sermon

The Savannah Male Ensemble
will appear in concert on Feb. 25,
for the benefit of the Training
Union of our Church. Donations
are only fifty cents; come and
bring a friend, for a delightful
evening.
Last Sunday offering banners
during Sunday School hour were
awarded classes taught by Mrs.
Rosella Williams and Supt. Lucius
Ross. Sermons were well receiv
ed as delivered by Pastor E. G.
Lane with the Sr. Choir and Mrs.
M. Thomas at the console. This
week finds Mrs. Berta Ricken
backer hospitalized, our prayers
are made for all indisposed that

Services at Second Arnold Bap
tist Church were well attended on
Sunday. Sunday School was held
at the usual hour with Mrs. O. B.
Dingle, superintendent and teach
ers in charge.
The morning service began with
Choir No. 1 in charge of the music.
Rev. Dingle delivered soul stirring
messages during the day.
B. T. U. met at 6 p.m. with Mrs.
Sarah Williams, director in charge.
The Gospel Chorus will meet on
Thursday at 6:30 p.m. All mem
bers are asked to be present. All
Sunday School and B. T. U. work
ers are asked to attend the Scho
larship Drive program Friday
night at First Tabernacle Baptist
Church. Master Marion Brooks
will be one of the speakers who
will represent Second Arnold.

Services were well attended at
the Second Mt. Zion Baptist
Church, beginning with Sunday
School at 11:30 a.m., Miss Jean
Fountain, superintendent, presid
ing.
Among the activities planned
for the coming weeks will be a
supper on February 23 at 1012
Collat Avenue, and the Gospel
Eagles in concert on March 10.
Visitors are invited to attend all

Baptist Church
The services at the Union Bap
tist Church began at 9:45 a.m.
with Dea. E. Washington, super
intendent, presiding, and Dea. M.
Oliver making the discussion.
Rev. Pete Broxton delivered the
messages at the morning and night
services to a large number. Both
messages were inspiring.
The monthly meeting of the
Ushers Union will be held Feb
ruary 20. The No. 1 Usher Board,
Mrs. Beatrice Capers, president,
will be in charge.
The Senior Mission will celebrate
their 25th anniversary on Febru
ary 17, at four o’clock. Mrs. Wil
lie is president.
Lie. Alton Anderson will be or
dained to the ministry on Thurs
day night, February 14 with Rev.
L. S. Stell, Jr. preaching the or
dination sermon. The public is
cordially invited to attend.

celebration will be held Monday,
February 25 through Friday,

Baptist Church
Sunday School at the Mt. Tabor
Baptist Church began at the usual
hour with a large attendance and
the superintendent and teachers in
charge.
Morning service began at eleven
o’clock with the message being de
livered by the pastor, Rev. Lamar
Kelley, who spoke from the theme,
“God’s General Orders”.
Holy communion services were
inspiring with Pastor Kelley again
delivering the message. Two were
united with the church.
On Sunday night, February 17
at eight o’clock the installation
of all officers of the church will
be held.
Members are asked to remember
the sick and shut in members of
the church with their prayers and
visits.

Holy Communion service was
highly inspirational on Sunday at
Oak Grove. Sunday School was
held at the usual time.
At 2 p.m. Rev. Holmes preach
ed a soul stirring sermon. The
No. 1 and Junior Choirs furnished
music with Mrs. Bessie Dunham,
organist, in charge. Guest minis
ters were Rev. A. Fields and Rev.
Dunham.
Sunday, February 17 will be
Homecoming Day. Sunday School
begins at 9:45 a.m. Rev. A. An
derson will deliver the 11:30 mess
age. The 2:30 p.m. service will
be in charge of Piney Grove Bap
tist Church, Rev. L. B. Free, pas
tor. The public is cordially in
vited to hear the dynamic speak
ers. Special guests will be the
Sunshine Singers of Union Bap
tist Church. Dinner will be serv
er. On Friday night, February 22
the Junior Choir will celebrate
their first anniversary at the
church at 7:30 p.m. The public
is invited. Mrs. Lillian Homes is
director.
Mrs. Della Corbett is sick at
home, 4219 Old Louisville Road.
Mrs. Lizzie Pelote is a patient at
the Georgia Infirmary Hospital.
We are asking the prayers of
everyone for all of the sick and
4hut-in and the less fortunate.

Sunday was designated Con
secration Day and was a day of
inspiration at St. Phillip Monu
menta, beginning with Sunday
School at 10 a.m., Mrs. A. L. S.
Bargeron, superintendent, presid
ing.
Services were well attended and
very uplifting. Pastor Jaulon de
livered soul stirring messages
throughout the day. During the
morning services a portrait of
Richard Allen was presented to
the church by the Daughters of
Monumental, one among the most
recent organizations of the church,
Mrs. Albertha Brown is presi
dent. As the officers and various
organizations rededicated their
services to the church, the moment
was one long to be remembered.
The evening hour of worship
began at the usual seven o’clock
hour with the senior and Progres
sive Choirs rendering music.
God’s blessings are asked for
all sick, shut in and less fortun
ates.
A cordial welcome is extended
to everyone who do not regularly
worship at the church with a heart.
