Christmas Concert
To Highlight
Beach PTA
The highlight of the December
meeting of the Beach High PTA
is the annual Christmas concert
featuring the well trained voices
of the Beach High School Chorus
under the direction of Mr. Peter
J. Smalls, and the band with Mr.
Gary Douglas, bandmaster. The
meeting will be held Wednesday
night, December 11, at 7:00 p.m.
in the school auditorium. All mem
bers of the PTA, students and
friends are invited to attend.
“Mrs. Beach PTA,” Mrs. Rose
mary Chapman, and runners-up,
Mrs. Charlesetta Smith and Mrs.
Clemett Nelson, will also be pre
sented with gifts for their parti
ciptation in the Class Mothers
Contest.
The business session will be pre
sided over by the president, Mrs.
Estella D. Williams. Mrs. Miriam
G. Wilkerson is program chair
man; Mr. O. L. Douglas, princi
pal.

been selected to represent the

Highlights of the business ses
sion were reports from the PTA
workshop at Florence Street
School, the PTA carnival commit
tee, the budget committee and the
procedure book committee. Re-
selected to represent G. V. A. from
this city. Her service is an honor
and quite a responsibility. As a
result of attending this conven
tion, she will bring back new
ideas and inspiration as well as a
better understanding of the total
vocational program.

The Magic of
Christmas
Students from 17 elementary
schools and seven secondary
schools will combine their talents
to present, “The Magic of Christ
mas,” Friday, December 13, 7:30
p.m., Municipal Auditorium.
“The Magic of Christmas” is
music that enraptures all man
kind at Christmas time. Some of
beautiful traditional and modern
the magic will be heard in the
simplicity of “The Friendly
Beasts” oi' the hauntingly beau
tiful “What Child Is This?” Other
magic will be heard in “The Little
Drummer Boy” or the majestic
“Break Fortfy O Beauteous
Heavenly Light.” Still more magic
will be heard as bell choirs play
“Away in a Manger” and “Silver
Bells.”
The public is invited to attend
the program. No admission will
be charged.
