Mr. Lamb was an old and respectable
citizen of this county. Years ago, he
married a Mrs. Landers, who, at the time,
had ope child, a little girl. They lived
very pleasantly together, and raised a fam
ily of children, the step-daughter having

her mother, which occurred some time du
ring the past year, and still remaiued with
her step-father up to last Sunday night,
when they were married. Everything pro

grand jury, which resulted in an indict

the trial, the jury found him guilty, and
the judge gave hima term of twelvemonths

Bir : I deem it an act of justice to you to state that
in the month ol February last J bad a severe attack
of inflammatory rheumatism, which completely pros
tritted me. At the same time my tungs were much
afflicted. I was so reduced that it was with the great
est difficulty that I oould walk. I procured some of
your Compound Extract of Sarsaparilla, and com
menced taking it. I found tliat I began to improve—
my cough became less severe—the soreness of my
lungs and breast gradually subsided—my rheumatic
pains less acu?e. I attribute this mainly to yotir Har
sapariiia. I have now been taking it for over two
months; have taken in all live jetties. Its effects
have been most satlfaetory to me, and I advise others
similarly afflicted to give you a trial.

Is a remedy ol Wonderful Bffieacy in the cure
of diseases Os the Kidneys and Bladder. Tti
these Affections it is as near a specific as any
remedy can be. It does its work kindly, silent
ly and surely. The Relief which it affords is
both certain and perceptibly.
DISEASES OF THE KIDNEYS AND
BLADDER
Persons nlmc'qoainted with the structure and
functions of the Kidneys cannot estimate the
importance of their healthy action.
Regular and sufficient action of the Kidneys
is as important, nay, even mure so, than regu
larity of the bowels. The Kidneys remove
from the Blood those effete matters which, if
permitted to remain, would speedily destroy
life. A total suspension of the urinary dis
charges will occasion death from .thirty-six to
forty-eight hours.
When the Urine is voided in small quanti
ties at the time, or when there ja a disposition
to Urinate more frequently than natural, or
when the Urine is high colored or eceding,
with weakness in the small of the hack, it
should not be trifled with or delayed, but Kos
koo should' be taken at. once to remedy the dif
ficulty, before a lesion of the organs takes
place. Most of the diseases of the Bladder
originate from those of the Kidneys, the Urine
being imperfectly secreted In the Kidneys
proye irritating to the Bladder and Urinary
passages. When we recollect that medicine
never reaches the Kidneys except through the
general circulation of the Blood, we see how
necessary it is to keep the Fountain of Lite
Pure.

ETIWAN GUANOS
SOLUBLE MANURES.
AND *
SULPHURIC ACID,
MANUFACTURED AT CHARLESTON.
TJ NDER THE DIRECTION OF Dr. N. A. PRATT, CHEMIST FOR THE SULPHURIC
ACID AND SUPERPHOSPHATE COMPANY.
SOLUBLE PHOSPHORIC ACID, in the form of SOLUBLE PHOSPHATE OF LIME, oi
DISSOLVED BONE PHOSPHATE, is the basis of all good Fertilizers, and these are valuable
in the ratio oi Soluble Phosphoric Acid which is In them.
The immense deposits of Phosphatic Guanos which wore discovered in 1867, in South Caro
lina, by Dr. PRATT, consists mainly of Insoluble Pbopphate of Lime, which Is made available as
a Fertilizer by being ground to powder, and reduced!by Sulphuric Acid to snch a condition as
to make Us insoluble phosphate solublo in water, and 'thus made capable of being taken up by
growing plants. Tbe insoluble phosphate lound in anv Commercial Fertilizer is ol no more
value to the plant than the original phosphate roek. The greater the proportion of this soluble
phosphate which any fertilizer contains, the less the quantity required per acre, and consequent
ly the cheapest Fertilizer is that containing the highest per cefitage of Solnble Phosphate.
Impressed with these truths, the SULPHURIC ACID AND SUPERPHOSPHATE COM
PANY have etected at Charleston the first extensive Acid Chambers South of Baltimore, and
are able to ofTer to Planters the HIGHEST PER CENT AGE OF SOLUBLE PHOSPHATE OF
LIME known in any market.
Their Fertilizer* are offered under two forms :
1. ETIWAN, No. I.—PURE SOLUBLE PHOSPHATE, guaranteed to contain 24 per cent
of Dissolved Bone Phosphate of Lime, S6O per ton ; 10 per eent. discount for cash.
2. ETIWAN, No. 3. PERUVIAN SUPERPHOSPHATE, guaranteed to contain 30 pei
cent, ol Dissolved Bone Phosphate, and 1% to 3 per cent, of Ammonia, with a sufficient ad
dition of Peruvian Guano to adapt it to all crops, S7O per ton; 10 per cent, disconut for cash.

A. MEANS, iNsPBOToa, Savannah, Chatham county, Ga.
The foregoing analysis of the Etiwan Fertilizer, No. 1, indicates a high proportion of Soluble
Phosphoric Acid, an indispensable element in the produotton of frnitage for Cotton, Corn and
the Cereals generally, and which, in this condition, aqts promptly during the. first year. The
amount of Insoluble Phosphate of Lime which it contains—equal to 10.41 per cent—remains
In the soil, to undergo chemical re-action favorable to a succeeding crop. It will rank, there-
amongst the most reliable ot the class of Phosphate Manures.
• A. MEANS, Inspector.
N. B.—ETIWAN, No. 3, is same as No. 1, with Peruvian Guano added as ammdnia.
