round to his (Stauffer’s) house, called
for his wife, and told her he had killed
her husband. He then rode out of

sheriff, Mr. John Hughes, attempted to

head and severely wounded, and an as
sistant was shot in the arm. These
Jones’ are nephews of the late (iov.
