TERMS.—Three Dollars per an.iuin,
payable in advance.
Adveiitisenkxts.—First insertion, per
square, seventy-five cents, and for each sub
sequent successive insertion, thirty seven
and a half cents —but. monthly advertise
ments seventy-five cents per square for eaclt
insertion, —no advertisement being consid
ered less than a square, and each person’s
property advertised by Sheriff, Marshal, or
Tax-Collector being estimated as a square.
Advertisements, unless limited by law or
the advertiser, continued until ordered to
be stopped, and charged accordingly.
Sales of laud and negroes, by administra
tors, Executors, or Guardians, are required
by law, to be held on the first Tuesday m the
Month, between the hours of ten in the fore
noon and three o’clock in the afternoon, at
the court house of the county in which the
proper'y is situate. Notices of the sales
of land must be given in a public gazette
SIXTY days, and negroes FORTY days pre
vious to the day of sate.
Notice of the sale of personal property
must be given in like manner, FORTY days
previous to the day of sale.
Notice to the debtors and creditors of an
estate must be published for FORTY days.
Notice that application will be made to the
Court of Ordinary for leave to sell land, must
be published FOUR MONTH’S.
Notice for leave to sell Negroes must be
published for FOUR MON MIS, before any
order absolute can be made by Court.
Letters of Dismission front an estate must
be published six months.
Getters of business or containing com
munications must, to receive -Mention, be
post-paid.

low who says bis name is RICHA/ONB
and that he ranaway from James Hughs, of
•South Carolina, but who has since removed
to Alabama, on the 4th of Febuttry last, he
had in his possession a pass signdtl Lewis
Clark, of Abbeville Dist. S. Carolina, but ac
knowledges that be obtained it from a school
boy, and he was in the act of getting another
when apprehended The said negro is a
bout 5 feet -9 inches high, between 30 and
35 years of age, and light complected-
