A Notable Distinction.
New York Truth.
Mr. Blaine and General Butler wrote
small books. Governor Cleveland Las writ
ten a letter.
True to Himself.
Exchange.
Nobody can accuse Ben Butler of incon
sistency. He has been always strictly for
himself, and always will be.
Give It Up.
Chicago News.
What would the Loudon Standard say of
Cleveland if it knew that on the occasion of
the Fenian raid into Canada he was volun
teer counsel for the raiders?
Water on a Duck's Back.
Galveston News.
The New York Sun, in its blind enthu
siasm for Butler, remarks that there will be
no personal scandals affecting his character
when he takes the field. Very likely. But
ler hasn’t got character enough on which to
pl aster a scandal.
Who Can, Indeed?
Chicago Times.
The books of the Assessor at Lowell
show that Mr. Butler’s income from his
profession is $100,000 a year. As Mr. Bu
tler’s profession is that of a laboring man,
who will say that labor is not handsome y
rewarded in this country.
A Hint to the Snobs.
Cincinnati Times-Star.
The dispatches gushed a good deal
yesterday over a Rhode Island marriage in
which “both parties have distinguished
patriotic ancestry.” It is much more im
portant that they have a distinguished
patriotic posterity.
Then and Now.
Albany Express.
What a strange world this is, after all.
Six weeks ago Mr. Tilden’s health.was the
leading topic of newspaper discussion
throughout the length and breadth of the
land. Millions of people were shown to be
solicitous on that point. Now no one ap
pears to care the toss of a copper whether
Air. Tilden is ill or well.

A CASE WITHOUT HOPE.
Jno. R. Booker, of Macon, Ga, writes:,
“In 1878 I was attacked with the most ra
venous sort of cancerous sores, that ate great
holes into my flesh and spread rapidly over
my body. I received the very best medical
attention; was dosed with mercury and pot
ash until I was so ciippled with mercurial
rheumatism that I could scarcely hobble
about; my throat and mouth were badly
ulcerated; mv hair began to fall out. So
wrecked was my general health that I be
came a physical ruin and my health was a
burden. For a long time I was bed-ridden,
and my suffering was so intense that I
prayed for death as a relief. I exhausted
the whole catalogue of patent medicines, in
each case following the directions religious
ly. Each in turn seemed to aggravate the
malady, and none of them benefited me in
any way. When life was apparently hope
less I commenced taking S. S. S. To this
Specific 1 owe my life. In ten days I com
menced improving, and in a short time was
perfectly well. My hair has grown out
thick; my heath and strength have returned,
and tor the first time in years I enjoy my
food. Every sore has disappeared from my
body. 1 weigh as much asl ever did in i»y
life, and am perfectly healthy in everv way.
The very germs of the cancerous affliction
are destroyed. Not only is the terrible
malady that was preying on my life, and
which every one pronounced incurable, en
tirely cured, but 1 am also relieved of the
bad effects of the mercury and potash mix
tures that I was fed on for years.”

The Fame of the Famous.
Tiie fame of the “Famous” is in every one’s
mouth,
The envy of the North, the pride of the
South;
You might search the world over, you never
would find,
Suits cheaper, or salesmen more courteous
and kind.
For twelve dollars, or ten, or even at nine
You can get Cassimere Suits, quite nobby
and fine.
And those who purchased there never re
gretted their choice,
But all agree in praising the “Famous” with
unanimous voice.
Good deeds speak for themselves, so the
Famous Clothing Store
Will continue to sell Clothing as cheap as
before.
Be assured if you invest either twelve dol
lars or ten,
You will be so much pleased you will go
there again.
A RICH LEGACY.
The General Attorney of the Pullman
Sleeping Car Company, ex-Chief Justice ().
A. Lochrane, of Georgia, says that old Dr.
Biggers could leave no better legacy than
Southern Remedy for bowel affections, and
in all his travels he has never found any
thing to equal Dr. Biggers’ Southern Remedy
for the relief of diarrhoea, dysentery and
the restoration of the little ones whose
system is suffering such a drainage
from the effect of teething, etc.
This, with a bottle of Taylor’s Cher
okee Remedy of Sweet Gum and Mullein,
combining the stimulating expectorant
principles of the sweet gum with the de
mulcent healing one of the mullein for the
cure of croup, whooping cough, colds and
consumption, presents a little medicine
chest no household should be without for
the spee ly relief of sudden and dangerous
attacks of the lungs and bowels. Ask your
druggist forthem. Manufactured by Walter
A. Taylor, proprietor Taylor’s Premium
Cologne, Atlanta, Ga.
This Idea of Going West
to Colorado or New Mexico, for pure air re
lieve Consumption, is all a mistake. Any
reasonable man would use Dr. Bosanko’s
Cough and Lung Syrup for Consumption in
all its first stages. It never fails to give
relief in all cases of Coughs, Colds, Bron
chitis, Pains in the Chest and all affections
that are considered primary to Consump
tion. Price, 50 cents and sl. Sold by Oceola
Butler and E. J. Kieffer.

which gives such immediate and permanent
relief as Dr. Williams’ Indian Pile Oint

SMALL VOICES
Sometimes shake a Nation of people and

This is the case with hundreds who
have been unwise enough to take Sarsaparil

almost fatally impaired- Swift’s Specific is
a vegetable remedy, and restores the system
to health and builds up the waste made by
these poisons.
“I was suffering with Blood Poison, and
treated several months with Mercurv and
Potash, only to make me worse. The Potash
took away my appetite and gave me dyspep
sia, and both gave me rheumatism- 1 then
took Sarsparillas, etc. All these Sarsparilla
1 mixtures have Potash in them. This made
i me still worse, as it drove the poison farthei

take Swift’s Specific, and it cured me of the
