Mrs. Thomas Fuller and Mr. Ford
Fuller returned last night from Sa
vannah where the latter was quite
ill for several weeks. His friends
are glad to know that he is rapidly
convalescing.
The friends of Miss Thompson,
who taught school here a number of
years ago, and of her niece. Miss
Alice Thompson, will learn with .in
terest that the latter has been elect
ed to the chair of chemistry in Mt.
Holyoke Seminary In Massachusetts.
Miss Thompson, Sr., is residing in
New Hampshire

Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Knight were
complimented with a delightful sur
prise party last, evening by (their
children and neighbors, the occasion
being in honor of their twentieth
wedding anniversary. The guests be
gan to arrive at 8 o'clock, each
brining a lovely gift of china tor the
host and hostess. Later on elaborate
refreshments arrived and a delight
ful evening was enjoyed by all pres
ent. About thirty guests attended
and the occasion was a charming
success and a graceful compliment
to Mr. and Mrs. Knight, who appre
ciated very much the kindness in
arranging the pleasant surprise.
