The fire department was ’called oit yesterday about noon by an alarm from box 42. A <j,uiek run was made to the ecene and the blaze was discovered In a two-story frame residence at the corner of George and Cordon streets, occupied tby negroes and owned by W. M. Tupper. The damage was small. Large Crowd Going. James Parker Talt Died Sunday- Night After Long Illness. Little James Parker Tait, eldest son of; Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Tait, died Sunday night at 2 o’clock after an of several years with spinal troußle. The funeral occurred yes terday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, Rev- F. D. Thomas officiating. The Pres byterian choir sang the hymns Asleep in Jeaus and Safe in the Arms of Jesus very sweetly. The choir was composed cf Miss Lucile Butts, Mrs. Mary Stacy, Messrs. R. E. Sher man, T. J.
