Pauline, the white house cow under
the Taft administration, has resigned.
Pauline was a “progressive” cow from
Wisconsin. Her successor is an old
competitor, the democratic “old oaken
bucket.”

favor of Mallory Bros., Machinery .Co.,
against the skid H. M. Purvis and said

estate of J. J. Wright, late of said

reported for March to date amount to
$15,556,584, of which $4,552,735 were in
manufacturing, $6,456,799 were in trad
ing and $4,547,050 in other commercial
lines. Failures last week numbered
294 in the United States against 273
last year, and 33 in Canada compared
with 37 a year ago
Latest statistics show about 5,527 re
ports of lightning strokes in this cour.-
try a year.
Columbus, March 24—the body of
John Boggs, an employe of the Eagle
-and Phoenix mills, who disappeared ten
days ago, was found today in the Chat
tahoochee river. It was floating on the
surface. It is supposed that his death
was due to an accident.

Notice is hereby .given that on the
29th day of March, 1913, an election

court house in said county, and tert
thousand dollars shall be applied to the
purpose of building a jail and neces

necessary appurtenances shall be built
at the county sitp of said county; said
bonds to bear date the first day of May,
1913; to bear interest at not more than
six-per cent, per annum, pavable an
nually on the Ist day of January in
each year, beginning on January Ist,
1914, and extending for thirty years
from date of same; to be in denomina
tions of one thousand, six hundred and
jpxty six and 667-1000 dollars each as
principal and the accrued interest on
.each payment and bond, and the prin
pal thereof to be paid as follows:—o

open at seven o’clock a. m. and close at

Alamo, Ga., and will be open at eight
। o’clock a. m., and close at three o’clock

; precincts in said county, on the day
fixed for said election, to-wit: the 29th
day Os March, 1918-
Those desiring to vote in favor of the
issue of said bonds will do so by cast
ing ballots having written or printed
upon them the words “.For Bonds”;
those desiring to vote against the is
sue of said bonds will do so by casting
ballots having written or printed upon
them the wbrds “Against Bonds.” ’
Said bonds are to be paid off and
fully retired in thirty annual install
ments as aforesaid, including principal
and accrued interest, the last payment
being made on January. Ist, 1943, at
which time ail of sa'd bonds and the
interest on them will be paid off and
fully retired. The amount to be paid
each January Ist as aforesaid to be one
thirtieth of the principal and the ac
srued interest.
The said election being this day
ordered and will be held at every voting
precinct in said county under the, law

Dissolution Notice.
Notice is hereby given that the firm
of Fordham & Nelson, heretofore en
gaged in the business of Alamo Drug
Company, in the city of Alamo. State
of Georgia, is this day dissolved by
mutual consent, Dr. T. H. Nielson re
tiring therefrom. The business will be
conducted at the sanie place by Dr. L..
P. Fordham, who will settle all firm
liabilities and receipt for all debts due
to the firm. This Ist day of Dec. 1912.
