Irby Spell Hurt by Fall From Loft i While throwing- down hay from the I loft over the stables of his father, Mr. W. H. Spell, last Saturday morning, Irby, his little son, fell through the skudder hole of the loft to the ground, and for a time it was thought that he was seriously hurt, but beyond a fright and pretty heavy shake up, he came out without being hurt. The flooring of the stables is composed of clay and had the boy not fallen on a bunch of hay, that happened to be as it was, he would have been broken up. He is doing well, however, and the soreness will soon disappear. Teachers Held Meeting Here. Several teachers of the county writ in Alamo last Saturday for the usual meeting. They are a walking cane and powder flask, owned by his grandfather, nearly a hundred yearsago. The powder flask is a gourd, shaped while young by being grown between two plank, and it tapers off at the and and forms an ideal powder flask, like those used in the days of the muzzle loading guns, The cane is made of rosewood, neatly desgned and carved These relics were handed down from three generations and Judge Fordham prizes them very highly, and they will likely be prized by generations handed down from him, They have been well preserved aud there is no telling how long they wiP remain in the Fordham family. New Mercantile Business in Alamo Messrs J. A. Rogers of this county and M. A. He is i apidly gaining his strength, however, and by the use of a rolling chair, will be out soon. The formal announcement of Mr. Daniel Pope will be found in this issue, in which he asks to be re-elected to the office of Treasurer of Wheeler county. Mr. Pope is serving his first term, and feels that he should be given a second term, as it is his Intention to retire then from the field, and turn it over to the one whom the people might select. Mr. Pope is making the county a good official, and no better man could be selected. He has handled the busi ness connected with his office in a busi ness like manner, and is always ready when duty calls. Warning Notice Georgia, Wheeler County.
