The many friends of Mr. John
Rube Hall regret to learn of his
illness at his home a few miles
west of Alamo. He contracted
pneumonia' it is understood, and
his condition was quite serious
for several days. The last report
from his bedside is that hi’ con
dilion is some improved and is
expected to survive.

Alamo Sixth Graders
To Have Roman Feast
The Alamo sixth graders are
planning to have a Roman feast
or banquet today (Friday.) They
arc finishing a study of the rise
and fall of the Roman Empire.
Each child has chosen a Roman
name and is to wear a Roman
robe and sandals. At the fe: -t
each child is to tell about himself
and the things he has done as a
Roman. The diners are to recline I
on desks instead of couches and
drive punch instead of wine.

Kev. McGregor preached at
the camp last Sunday. His dis
course was well received and
helpful.
The camp was recently honored

Assembly is now the common
order of the day. Each morning

j the men “fall in line.” Those who
live in town are assembled at the
bank corner and meet the truck

Rev. J. E. Lunsford is to
preach for us next Sunday. We
look foward to his coming with
much pleasure.
The sings held each afternoon
shortly after supper in the mess
hall seem to be throughly enjoyed
by those who attend. We could
only hope that more would c ;me
in.
Transferers and discharges
seem to be in order. Some of the
men are finding jobs. Some are I
securing rehabilitation on farms.
Mr. Frank Ellington, was trans
ferred last week to a South
Carolina camp. Messrs Webb
and Christmas are new “trans
ferrees” arriving at this camp.
Through the cooperation of the
Chevorlet People, the n echanics
class is receiving very creditable
help. Some of the men report to
