ALAMO P.-T A* YEAR
COMES TO CLOSE
——-Q— —■
Thursday evening, at 8 o’clock
marked the beginning ol a meet
lag which ended the P. T. A.
meeting lo>r the. school year in
Alamo. This was the occasion
of “Daddys Night.’’ A wonder
ful program was rendered by
the children of grammar grades
who had been trained by Miss
Radford, tho music teacher.
Mrs. C. E. Wrye, program
chairman for the year has func
tioned most succe sfully in tbi
capacity.
After the program, a business
session was held. All busir.es.-
was disposed of. The major
project for the year: The Hot
Luncheon, served daily was a
huge success. All children were
weighed monthly and showed a
decided gain in weight. Scores
as mothers remarked that then
children bad gained in weight,
this winter where, hereto fore,
they had not gained as they grew
so tired of cold sandwichs. This
is the best project the P. T. A.
has ever sponsored, or tbi
mothers think so anyway. The
teachers note a difference in
pupils altitudes too.
Officers for the ensuing yeai
were unanimously r -elected a
follows: President: Mrs. G. I,
Hittaway; Vice Preside n>: Mis*
W. E Currie; Secretary: Mis,
Eschnl GiUer; Mrs. M D. Mcßte
was elected as Treasurer. The
Taira Grade won the dollar for
having most parents present.
The ending of me ( f the most
successful P. T. A. years Alamo
has ever experienced. The com
munity also feels that this school
year, rapidly drawing to a close,
marks the culmation of the most
successful school year in the
history of the school.
After th' bu-iwss session
delicious rehe-hments waie
served to about 200 guests in the
g ammar school hill by Mis.
Giles and her committee.
The members feel that if the
“fathers” would atu nd all the
meetings of the year it would be
most helpful to all.
