This is to notify those who owe 1036 and 1937 taxes that Sheriff H.N. Sears now has all Tax Fi. Fas. for the above years for cols lection. £ As stated in my article in the Wheeler County Eagle in January I had orders from the State to tarn them over to the collecting officer at once, however, I have held them for over three months, in order to give every onea ’ehance to settle without cost. ‘ I did not turn them over to the Sheriff as a matter of choice, aeither does he have them by choice. It is a matter of duty irvolved in our respective offices, of which we arc both subject by law. And even as unpleasant as it is at this time, our duty must be performed, as tha% is what you elected us to do. Let me also remind you here that 1938 and 1939 will be follows ing as soon as the otbers are cleared up. However, I bave them at this time, and will be glad to bave you call and clear them up before additional costs are added. Yoars very traly L. E TANNER Tax Commissioner W. C.
