FORCONGRESS
Albert L. Cobb
Co The Voters of The First Congrea
atonal District of Georgia:
On July 4, 1942, I qualified as a
! ludidate for Congress in the Demo*
tratic Primary to be held on Septem
wr 9, 1942, and am now waging an
ictive campaign for the nomination in
laid primary.
As the people of our District gen
irally know, I have long and earnestly
advocated full parity prices for our
armers; Rural Electrification for
ivsry farm home; long-time, low-in.
erest Federal Farm loans that would
inable every farmer to own his own
arm and home, while full parity
trices enabled him to keep out of
lebt and provide htm with an income
>n a level with other lines of busi
>ess; and retirement pensions for
svery person at the age of sixty.
While 1 have preached these and
>ther progressive reforms, and stil 1
10, our present Congressman has all
along opposed them, and still does ;
yet, the principal, piimary and para
mount issues of this campaign will
inevitably be, as they should of righ t
be, the unenviable record of the pre
lent Congressman during the pasj
wo years is opposing this country’s
.truggle to prepare itself against the
mad Dictators of Europe and Asia
who long ago set out to destroy
Democracy and wreck America as a
Nation and as a People.
The Record will show, and 1 shall
presently present it to you, that the
L'ongrusaman from the First Georgia
District has stood almost alone from
;he whole South in fighting the Presi
dent of United States and our leaders
of Government in their efforts to save
America from Hitlerism and the Japs;
and upon that written Record, which
tie cauuot dodge or deny, I shall ask
o1 a defeat at the bauds of the loyal
men and women of our District on
September 9th.
Respectfully Yours,
ALU ERTL. COBB.
