Mr. Lester Clark diedat his
home near the Hope school com
munity Thursday morning, Oc~
tober 1. He was buried at Dixon
cemetary Friday afterncon, Ocs
tober 2. Rev. J. H, Allen, pastor
of the Mt. Vernon Methodist
charge conducted the funeral
services,
I\}l‘. Clark had been in ill health
for, several months. But his
pagaing was unéexpected at the
of his going, as he was apparents |
ly doing better. He is survived |
by his wife and several children,
among them is Mrs. W. 5, Row=~
land.
Mr. Clark wasa member of
Shiloh Methodist church. He|
was a good man and will be much
missed. For a number cos years
he had been county surveyor for
Wheeler County. Noappointment
will be made to fill his place. A
candidate will be elected in the
November election to succeed
him.

Moore, the most dypnamic and
popular preacher in Methodism
in America, is todedicate these

cey will be dedicated at the

morping and the Mt. Zion
chureh, just below Milan, will be
dadicated by Bishop Moore at
eight o’clock Monday night. Rev,

Monday afternoon. These new
churches have been built during
the pastorate of Rev. L R. Lans
castor, the present pastor, who
is serving his third year there,
Revival Services at Erick
Christian Church to Start
Revival services will begin at
Christian Church, on the 4th
Sunday (Oc'ober 25). Services
will be conducted by Rev.
Charles Jackson, of Fitzgerald,

‘Census report shows that 1,214
bales of cotton were ginned in
Wheeler County from the crop
of 1942 prior to October Ist, a8

The Wheeler County Supelior
Court, which cenvened here last
Monday, adjourned last Wedness
day, There weie a number of
cases tried, two being from the
civil docket. The cases that were
tried will be published next
week. The court was not 1n
session on Tuesday.
Judge Eschol Graham presidv
‘ed and Soliciter General M. M,
Boyer, attended to the interests
of the state.
Judge Graham, in his charge
to the jury on Monday morning,
praised the offices of Justices of
the Peace and commended the
mei who now hold these offices
throughout the county. He «Xx-~
plained the way in which our
state and county officers ae
slected and spoke favorbly for
that method.
In reference to the present
sar, Judge Graham believes th: ¢

ter. He says that we are on the

Dealers to Register
The Fuel Oil and Kerosene
Dealer registration dates have
been tentatively set for October
90 and 21. This registration will
be handled in a similar manner
to the dealer registration in
Gasoline Rationing. Every retail
dealer, jobber, distributor, and
supplier who sells fuel oil or
kerosene will be required to
register, indicating their invens
tory on hand as of October 1, as
well as their maximum storage
capaciby.
