Oglethorpe city Division No. 294, S. of T.
It hath pleased the great Ruler of events
to remove fiom our social circle, by the hand
of Death, our much beloved brother H. W.
Ellis. Our worthy brother is no more. We
shall miss him henceforth from the circle of
our fellowship and the walks of our daily
life. No more will he wield the “gavel in
the administration of the affairs of our divis

council. Death has removed him far from
us and the place that once knew him shall
know him no more forever.
We as a body deem it a privilege to pay
this our last tribute of respect to departed
worth to express our unfimied regret fur the
toss we have sustained, and mingle our sym
pathy in common with the friends of the
deceased.
Be it therefore Resolved, That we mourn
the loss of our beloved brother, yet console
ourselves with the pleasing reflection that,
while in life, he exhibited in all their es
fulgence, the principles of our order, and dy
ing, left behind him a came unsullied us a
ffon of Temperance.
Resolved, That in trie death of our high
ly esteemed Brother, this Division has lost
an efficient mwinher, the Masonic Frater
nity one of its most zealous, perservering
uud devoted bretliern and the community
*o active, industrious and useful citizen.
Resolved, That as a token of our respect
and es’eem for our departed Brother, we
weai the usual badge of mourning for the
Sfaee of SO days, with the addition of a
iry-colorod badge to ba worn on the left
breast.
Resolved, Tint these proceedings be en
tered on the minutes of the Division—that a
copy of them be sent to the Temperance
