ESTIMATED COST OF THIS PROJECT IS $4,514,958.00. THE STATE RESERVES THE
RIGHT TO REJECT ANY OR ALL BIDS.
Said work shall begin within tea (10) days after notice to Proceed has been
issued and rhaLL bo completed within the number of calendar'days Indicated. Vbcn
contract has been executed, written notice shall be given the Contractor, at which
tine, and not before, work nay be started.
Contract executed pursuant to this notice is binding on the State High),'ay
Department, as such. Said contract will not create liability, expressed or Inplied,
against the undersigned Director of the State Highway Department, as an Individual
nor against any employee of the State Highway Departncnt, in his or her individual
capacity.
Plans and Specifications nay be Inspected at the ffices of the undersigned at
Atlanta, ano at the Division Office indicated, and at the office of the Board of
County Conniesloners of the County in which the work lies. Copies of the plans nay
be obtained upon payment in advance of the sun Indicated. Copies of the Standard
Specifications may be obtained upon payment In advance of the sun of $4.00, which
suns will not be refunded.
Proposals nust be submitted on regular foms, which will be supplied by the
unJ.ertigr.ed, and nay be obtained by a payment, In advance, of $5.00 for each proposal
Issued. When the proposal is submitted, it oust be accompanied by a proposal
guaranty in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, negotiable United States
Bonds, or other acceptable security in the amount Indicated, and nust be plainly
marked "Proposal for Road Construction," County and Humber, and she’.? the time of
opening as advertised. Check of the low bidder will be cashed and all other checks
vill be returned as soon as the contract is awarded, unless It is deemed advisable
by the State Highway Department to Tiold one or r.ore checks. If an unusual condition
arises, the State Highway Department reserves the right to cash all checks. Bidders
Bond will not be accepted. Bond will be required of the successful bidder as
required by law.
Contracts win not be awarded to contractors who have not been placed on the
list of qualified Contractors prior to the date of award. Ho proposal will be
issued to any bidder later than 9 A.M. of the date pf opening bids.

reserved In the undersigned to delay the award of the contract for a period not to
exceed thirty (30) days from the date of opening bids, during which period blds
shall remain open and not subject to withdrawal. Right is also reserved in the
undersigned to reject any and all blds and to waive all formalities.
Upon compliance with the requirements of the Standard Specifications,
payment for work done shall be made in accordance with the provisions of the
Standard Specifications.
On projects involving Federal Funds the minimum wages to be paid shall be the
amounts set out in the Labor Provisions included in the Proposal. The attention of
bidders is directed to the Special Provisions covering employment of labor,methods
of construction, and subletting or assigning the contract. On such projects, the
State Highway Department, in accordance with the provision of Title VI of the
Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat.2s2) and the Regulations of the Department of
Commerce (15 C.F.R., Part 8), Issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all
bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant
to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without
discrimination on the ground of race, color, or national origin.
In contracts involving State funds only, House of Representatives Resolution
Ro. 3 1 *, requiring use of domestic materials, will be incorporated.

Spain and son Rocky of Jack
sonville, Fla. Mrs. Stubbs and
Mrs. Spain were college room
mates at Georgia Southern Col
lege. They enjoyed a week-end
together.
Mrs. Don Martin of Law
renceville, Georgia, underwent
major surgery Friday, Novem
ber 21st, at Crawford W. Long
Memorial Hospital in Atlanta,
Georgia, and is getting along
fine.
Friends and relatives of Mr.
Lavert Bazemore of Savannah
will be glad to learn he has re
turned home after a brief stay
in the Candler General Hospital.
His family reports that he is
doing well and his many friends
and well wishers in Bryan are
hoping he will soon be complete
ly recovered.
This week children and stu
dents throughout the county
will enjoy a special Thanksgiv
ing dinner. Bryan County High
and Grammar School, Pem
broke High and Grammar'
School, Black Creek Elementary
School, Richmond Hill High
School, and The George Wash
ington School all are having the
regular holiday menu.
Mr. Leroy Lanier is a patient
in The Veterans Hospital in
Dublin, Ga. where he has been
there two weeks, and is now
doing much better.

where she is undergoing test
and x-rays.

funeral last Wednesday of Mr.
A. J. Parrish, a cousin of Miss 1
Ann Parrish in Charleston,
South Carolina.
Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Parrish,

spent the week-end with his
sister, Miss Ann Parrish.
