The F. R. it N. E. depot at this
place was broken open last Sun¬
day about 12 o’clock and the t ick¬
et case was taken to Chicnpen
Island, a distance of about i# half
mile, and opened and the con¬
tents scattered. There was about
$-10 in the case nearly all of which
lias been returned. The case was
found Monday morning and was
brought hack to the depot. Mr
K. B. McDaniel has been charged
with the deed. Mr. McDaniel
was in an intoxicated condition.
He made an attempt to commit
suicide later in the day but was
prevented. He left the city Sun¬
day night and has not returned
yet. Capt. Speight of Moultrie
was over Monday looking after the
interest of the railroad.
Duke Posey a young man was ;
seriously cut by Lonnie Williams,
Saturday night about throe miles
east of here. It seems that Posey ;
was drinking some and was ad¬
vancing on Williams which is
much smaller than Posey when
Williams cut a gash just below
his heart that required several
stitches to sew up. And that put
an end to their Saturday night
party.
