GOLDEN WEDDING
A recent anniversary of interest
to this section of the state was the
golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs
Elijah Adams, which was celebra¬
ted several days ago at their home
in Pelham.
The day was spent very quietly
by Mr. aud Mrs. Adams, except
for the visits from children who
live iu and near Pelham.
The Journal joins with the hun
dreds of other friends of the couple
iu paying tribute to this couple
who have spent fifty years as man
and wife. They have been fine

FOY - BENTLEY.
Centering the iuterest of a wide
circle of friends iu this state' and
in Florida, was the marriage cf
Miss Ethel Foy aud Mr. Cabe
Bentley of Winter Haven, Fla ,
which was solemnized at the home
of the bride’s father on Tuesday
morning at ten-thirty o’clock.
The impressive ring ceremony was
used, Rev. C. M. Ledbetter of
Hand Memorial Methodist Chutcb
officiating in the presence of the
family aud a few close friends.
The house was attractively
decorated with ferus and quauti
ties of pink carnations.
The bride was becomingly gown¬
ed iu a three piece suit of charmeen
and crepe in shades of tan, with
accordion plaited trimmings. Her
hat was a pretty model in brown
with burnt goose trimming. Other
accessories were iu brown.
Mrs. Bentley is the daughter of
Mr, James D. Foy, is a young
Woman of charmiug personality
and deservedly popular among a
host of friends
Mr. Bentley is a member of a
well kuown Georgia family, but
for the last five years has been
protnineutly connected with the
Citrus fruit industry of Florida,
with headquarters at Wiuter
Haven.
Immediately after the ceremony
Mr. aud Mrs. Bentley left for a
trip through Florida, after which
they will be at home iu Winter
Haven.

winning second place.
The Pelham boys played theiT
last game of the season iu Dawson
Friday nite. This is expected to
be a close game. The High
School boys defeated the Town
Team here Monday night by a
close game, that kept every spect¬
ator guessing who the winner
would be. The score was 22 to 21
in favor of the High school boys.
We are thinking of introducing
a student body government in our
high school. We hope this will
prove a success aud bring the pu
pHs and teachers closer together,
as they will be able to do better
work aud have better order,
We enjoy having Rev. Ledbetter
with us every Wednesday morning.
His interesting talks inspire us to
do better
