PACE 4B THE BANKS COUNTY NEWS WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 28, 2011 ON STAGE EQUESTRIAN ABILITIES “Odysseo” combines acrobatics and equestrian prowess to celebrate the beauty of the horse. 'Odysseo' presents magical adventure Atlanta’s city skyline now has a huge white tent where an adventure awaits those who go to Cavalia’s “Odysseo” produc tion. It’s a magical evening where horses and a talented group of men and women will delight and amaze the audience. The adventure begins as soon as you enter the big top. There are no structures on the stage or in the seat ing area making for a truly immersive three- dimensional experience that will astonish and amaze you before the show even starts. The big top rises 125 feet in the air and covers an area 393 feet long by 311 feet wide. The stage cov ers close to 8,200 square feet with a seating capacity of 2,290. The show is a wonderful cel ebration of the natural beauty and harmony of horse and man. They lead you on a journey through a mystical forest that is both sooth ing and inspiring. The cast of acrobats, dancers, musicians and riders all work together to present a production that seems almost like a dream. The show features 69 horses and 55 artists who will take you on a journey that will leave a lasting impression. While all of the cast is top-notch, it is the acrobats that I was most amazed by. The strength and agility they showed seemed to surpass what is humanly possible. They jumped and flipped through the air and completed some of the most wonderful scenes during the production. It was during their time on the stage that you heard the most gasps and exclamations from the audience. The riders also were amazing as they rode the horses, standing on them and even hanging from the side as the horses raced along the stage. It truly made for a magical evening. Performances were originally scheduled to go through Jan. 8 but the run has been extended through Jan. 15. Children and junior ticket prices are also being reduced 10 to 40 percent, depending on the performance. Performances are in the big tent located in the heart of midtown Atlanta at 8th and Spring Streets. For ticket information, visit www. cavalia.net or call 1-866-999- 8111.
