Photo by Sharon Hogan MARTIN NAMED TO ALL CONFERENCE TEAM Trey Martin, a 2011 Banks County High School graduate, was voted a member of the GSAC Freshman All Conference team with his 10th place finish in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Oct. 29. With these results, Trey proceeded to qualify for the NCAA Division III South/ Southeast Regional hosted by Texas Lutheran University. In the Sequin, Texas, race Trey finished 135th in the Southeast and was the No. 1 runner for Piedmont College. BANKS COUNTY SENIOR CENTER Will be accepting applications for a PART-TIME KITCHEN COORDINATOR PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION: The purpose of this classification is to assist in the operation of the county’s senior citizen’s center and to assist in directing the activities and operation of the Senior Center Kitchen. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific duties and responsibilities does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Receives food, assuring the correct amounts and temperatures are received when delivered. Packages meals for transport to the elderly. Serves meals at the Senior Center for the congregate meals. Maintains kitchen, assuring that all associated appliances are clean and sterile at all times. Assists in completing daily reports and comment sheets. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: Performs other related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; one year of progres sively responsible related experience, or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license; must possess and maintain a current CPR and First-Aid certifi cation. PERFORMANCE APTITUDES: Data Utilization: Requires the ability to coordinate, manage, and/or correlate data. Includes exercising judgment in determining time, place and/or sequence of opera tions, referencing data analysis to determine necessity for revision of organizational components, and in the formulation of operational strategy. Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions. Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descrip tive, and/or advisory data and information. Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, mul tiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs. Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of influence sys tems, such as motivation, incentive, and leadership, and to exercise independent judgment to apply facts and principles for developing approaches and techniques to resolve problems. Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the direction, control and planning of an entire program or set of programs. ADA COMPLIANCE Physical ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discrimi nate sounds, odor, depth, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
