The Banks County High
School varsity girls’ basketball
team split games on the road
in recent action. The Lady
Leopards beat Oglethorpe
County 65-27 and lost to Buford
18-55.
BCHS jumped out of the
gate and scored twice as many
points as Oglethorpe did in
the first quarter. Leading 12-6
at the end of the period, the
Lady Leopards were ready to
push the score even higher in
the second quarter and that’s
exactly what they did.
BCHS scored 26 points to
seven in the period and led
the game at the half 38-13. The
Patriots looking for a way to
come back in the game only
managed to score two points in
the third quarter and the Lady
Leopards put the game away
scoring 18 points.

Taylor Kennedy scored nine
points, Kaitlyn Duncan scored
seven points. McKenna Rylee

Warner scored four points, Jodi

Buford was a huge test for
the Lady Leopards. The Wolves
held BCHS scoreless through
the first quarter as shot after
shot bounced around the
rim. Haley Warner and Taylor
Kennedy finally got the Lady
Leopards on the board in the
second quarter and the half
ended 4-29.
A huge deficit to overcome
the Lady Leopards never gave
up and continued to add to the
scoreboard. Savannah Blalock
scored four points, McKenna
Rylee hit a three pointer and
Haley Warner made a basket
for two points.
The fourth quarter wasn’t
very productive for the Lady
Leopards and Buford pulled
away and made the game out of
reach. McKenna Rylee scored
on a three point shot and Paige
Mathis scored two points from
the floor.
McKenna Rylee ed the Lady
Leopards with a total of six
