Newsmaker from ia the general store functioning as usual and a saw mill was added to cut wood. The saw mill is no longer in existence on the farm. In a warranty deed dated July 1,1938 between Waters and Louella Boring to Barden, the property was referred to as the J.H. Brooks Home Place for the first time. On Dec. 1, 1948, partial ownership was transferred by warranty deed to James Hubert Boring by Waters. Boring had a healthy crop of corn, which was used to feed over 100 cows he owned. Cotton was still being produced on the farm and the general store and the saw mill were closed and out of busi ness. From July 2, 1951, to Dec. 17, 1975, the farm was under the ownership and direction of Marie Boring McMillen and was still grazing cattle. The fields were producing corn for both human and animal consumption and some cotton was still grown. McMillen used the second floor of the house as an area where she made and sold ladies hats. Ulysses Smith Boring and James Samuel Boring contin ued to graze cattle/livestock on the farm from Dec. 17, 1975, to Dec. 17, 1976. Corn was also being grown for the livestock to eat and Pole Herefords were being sold as breeding stock. From Dec. 17, 1976, to Nov. 28, 1990, Keith Edward Boring and Todd Brian Boring contin ued to sell Pole Herefords as breeding stock. Todd Brian Boring and Mary Carol Boring took over owner ship of the farm in Nov. 28, 1990, and in Dec. 2011, due to the theft of cattle, they decided to change the farm for cultiva tion of hay and raise finished Angus beef for the private mar ket. Todd Boring is still handling the operation of the farm and the primary product is hay. Today, Boring raises some poultry and livestock for his and his family’s personal use. Todd Boring said it is his intention to continue the J.H. Brooks lineage to his daughter, Taylor Christian Boring. “She will be the sixth genera tion of the J.H. Brooks lineage to own and operate the farm,” Boring said. $ 5 00 OFF Ticket Of s 2Tf° Or More. Valid with coupon Mon.-Thurs. only. La Hacienda Commerce La Hacienda Braselton 173 Steven B.
