PACE 6A THE BANKS COUNTY NEWS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4, 2012 Crime Thefts reported to BCSO last week Seven accidents reported last week The Banks County Sheriff's Office responded to a number of reports of burglary and theft last week, including the following: •theft by shoplifting at Wal- mart. Highway 441 South, Com merce. •theft by taking at Software Systems, Industrial Park Boule vard, Commerce. •burglar alarm at a Herbert Se- gars Road, Gillsville, residence, where the responding deputy re ported he checked all the doors and windows and all appeared secure. •burglar alarm at a West County Line Road, Lula, resi dence, where the keyholder at the residence reported the alarm was accidentally set off and all was O.K. •theft by taking at an Oscar Rucker Road, Homer, residence. The Banks County Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of 12 people during the past week. Those arrested and their charges include: •Willie Baratona Alford, 56, 2149 Dusty Road, Bowman, driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked and driv ing under the influence (DUI) of alcohol. •Joshua Curtis Brock, 19, 150 Deer Trail Road, Camesville, possession of marijuana. •Billy Joe Elem, 55, 270 Barnes Circle, Commerce, dis orderly conduct and bondsman off bond. On Friday, Dec. 30, five people were arrested on drug charges in two separate incidents in Banks County. Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman said four people were arrested by BCSO deputies when they delivered and sold Oxycodone pills to undercover agents at a pre-determined loca tion. Those arrested were: Helen Akins Edwards, 29, 485 Hil lard Road. Bowersville: Jeremy Joe Holbrooks, 22, 306 Old 29 During the period of Dec. 19 through Dec. 25, the Baldwin Police Department reports the arrest of two people. Those ar rested and their charges include: •Palemon Rojas-Ruiz, 48, following too close and driving without a valid driver's license. •Yvonn Parker Brown, 50, theft by shoplifting. INCIDENTS During the same period, the following incidents were re ported: Around 5:45 p.m. on Thurs day, Dec. 29, a deputy with the Banks County Sheriff’s Office responded to the T/A Truck Stop, Highway 441, Commerce, to the report of a robbery that occurred in the parking lot. A 46-year-old male truck driver stated that he was sitting in the cab of his tractor-trailer when a white male knocked on the cab and told him that someone had hit his trailer in On Friday, Dec. 30, in vestigators with the Banks County Sheriff’s Office took seven burglary war rants on Michael Eugene Taylor, 39, Jefferson. Taylor was locked up on Christmas Day by BCSO deputies when he was ap prehended in the Banks Crossing area and charged with theft by receiving sto len property - automobile. Taylor is charged with the burglaries at the following where the complainant reported the theft of a pasture gate. •burglar alarm at Banks Coun ty Middle School, Thompson Street, Homer, where the re sponding officer reported all the doors and windows were secure and all appeared O.K. •burglar alarm at Habersham Federal Credit Union, Evans Street, Homer. •theft by taking at Walmart, Highway 441 South, Com merce. •theft by taking at a Fort Lamar Road, Commerce, residence. •theft by taking on Patton Road at Carson Road, Commerce. •burglar alarm at Banks Coun ty Middle School, Thompson Street, Homer, where the re sponding deputy reported all the doors and windows surrounding the point of activation were se- •Julie Lynn Farmer, 20, 1530 Highway 164, Commerce, bondsman off bond. •Perry Leroy Farmer, 33,1530 Highway 164, Commerce, fail ure to appear and bondsman off bond. •Angel Cope Goodman, 32, 2814 Hog Mountain Road, Jef ferson, theft by shoplifting. •Cristin Marie Livingston, 29,43 Homer Street, Maysville, probation violation. •William James Terrell Owen, 31, 1111 Nails Creek Crossing, Royston, possession of mari juana. •Kenneth Eldo Palmer, 51, Road, Royston; James Robert Holmes, 23, 485 Hillard Road, Bowersville; and Jessica Dawn Hysinger, 36, 28 Reese Lane, Royston. During the arrests, officers also seized a 2004 Ford Explorer and Oxycodone pills, Chapman said. All four arrested were trans ported to the Banks County Jail and booked on sale of Oxy codone charges. In a second incident on Fri day, Brian Keith Carey, 40, 208 Dodge Hill Road, Maysville, •warrant service at Heritage Apartments, Willingham Av enue, Baldwin. •theft at a Baldwin Heights Road, Baldwin, residence, where the complainant reported two ground heating and air con ditioning units had been dis mantled and all of the copper wire had been removed. The two units are valued at $6,000. •theft by taking at Big Dad dy’s Boots, Highway 365, Bald win, where the business owner the back, Banks County Sheriff Charles Chapman said. Chapman said the alleged victim stated he exited his cab and went to the rear of his trailer and was approached by three other white males. “The com plainant stated they asked him if he had any money and he said yes,” Chapman said. “The complainant then stated that the males said to him, ‘I bet you don’t have any money,’ and locations: Evans Second Skin, Bookstand of North east Georgia, Fastenal, Patio etc., Karma Consignment, 2 Chic Sisters Boutique and RB MX and ATVs. All of these stores were entered when the locks were removed from the doors, Banks County Sher iff Charles Chapman said. Taylor also faces charges in Commerce and Jeffer son. Taylor is being held in the cure and all appeared to be O.K. •theft by taking at the T/A Truck Stop, Highway 441, Com merce. •burglary at a Webbs Creek Road, Homer, residence. •theft by taking at a Wells Road, Homer, residence. •theft by taking at Burger King, Highway 441, Commerce. •burglary at 2 Chic Sisters Boutique, Steven B. Tanger Boulevard, Commerce. •burglar alarm at Banks County Middle School, Thomp son Street, Homer, where the responding deputy reported the area of the alarm was checked and all was O.K. and secure. •burglary at a West Ridgeway Road, Maysville, residence. •theft of a firearm from a Duncan Road, Commerce, resi dence. 799 Claude Parks Road, Mur- rayville, failure to appear. •Samantha Lynn Parr, 43,125 Chambers Street, Homer, simple battery - family violence act (FVA). •Edward John Purdy, 29, 168 Lewallen Road, Commerce, possession of methamphet- amine, possession of a schedule n controlled substance, posses sion of marijuana, weaving over the roadway and possession of an open alcohol container. •Olivia Renee Richards, 36, 1031 Highway 59, Commerce, driving while driver's license is suspended or revoked. was arrested when he delivered Oxycodone to a pre-determined location and sold it to undercover agents. Authorities also seized, along with the pills, $247 in U.S. cur rency. Carey was transported to the Banks County Jail and booked on charges of sale of Oxycodone and possession of Oxycodone with the intent to distribute. The investigation continues by the BCSO Criminal Investiga tion Division. reported the theft of an air con ditioner. •theft by shoplifting at Kanga roo #13, Highway 365, Baldwin, where the store manager report ed the passenger in a white Ford Ranger had shoplifted a 20 oz. can of Red Bull drink. •theft by taking at a Heritage Gardens Drive, Baldwin, resi dence, where a female reported that another female had taken her medication and $200 in cash from her residence. then the complainant pulled his wallet out to show them he did have money and he stated that the males grabbed his money out of the wallet and ran off,” Chapman said. The amount of money in the wallet was report ed to be $1,000. The complainant told the deputy that the males ran across the road and then left in a van with an out-of-state license plate on it.
