Thefts reported to BCSO last week
Seven accidents reported last week
The Banks County Sheriff's
Office responded to a number of
reports of burglary and theft last
week, including the following:
•theft by shoplifting at Wal-
mart. Highway 441 South, Com
merce.
•theft by taking at Software
Systems, Industrial Park Boule
vard, Commerce.
•burglar alarm at a Herbert Se-
gars Road, Gillsville, residence,
where the responding deputy re
ported he checked all the doors
and windows and all appeared
secure.
•burglar alarm at a West
County Line Road, Lula, resi
dence, where the keyholder at
the residence reported the alarm
was accidentally set off and all
was O.K.
•theft by taking at an Oscar
Rucker Road, Homer, residence.
The Banks County Sheriff's
Office reports the arrest of 12
people during the past week.
Those arrested and their charges
include:
•Willie Baratona Alford, 56,
2149 Dusty Road, Bowman,
driving while driver’s license is
suspended or revoked and driv
ing under the influence (DUI) of
alcohol.
•Joshua Curtis Brock, 19, 150
Deer Trail Road, Camesville,
possession of marijuana.
•Billy Joe Elem, 55, 270
Barnes Circle, Commerce, dis
orderly conduct and bondsman
off bond.
On Friday, Dec. 30, five people
were arrested on drug charges in
two separate incidents in Banks
County.
Banks County Sheriff Charles
Chapman said four people were
arrested by BCSO deputies
when they delivered and sold
Oxycodone pills to undercover
agents at a pre-determined loca
tion.
Those arrested were: Helen

During the period of Dec. 19
through Dec. 25, the Baldwin
Police Department reports the
arrest of two people. Those ar
rested and their charges include:
•Palemon Rojas-Ruiz, 48,
following too close and driving
without a valid driver's license.
•Yvonn Parker Brown, 50,
theft by shoplifting.

During the same period, the

Around 5:45 p.m. on Thurs
day, Dec. 29, a deputy with the

responded to the T/A Truck

to the report of a robbery that

A 46-year-old male truck
driver stated that he was sitting
in the cab of his tractor-trailer
when a white male knocked
on the cab and told him that
someone had hit his trailer in

During the arrests, officers also
seized a 2004 Ford Explorer and
Oxycodone pills, Chapman said.
All four arrested were trans
ported to the Banks County Jail
and booked on sale of Oxy
codone charges.
In a second incident on Fri
day, Brian Keith Carey, 40, 208

where the complainant reported
two ground heating and air con
ditioning units had been dis

units are valued at $6,000.
