PAGE 6A THE BANKS COUNTY NEWS WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10, 2013 Game machine money taken Incidents from 5A Officers with the Banks County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary report at Travel Centers of America, Highway 441, Commerce, dur ing the past week. The complainant reported someone broke into one of the game machines and stole approximately $2,046 in cash out of it. The complainant stat ed the machine didn’t appear to have any damage and was still functioning properly. The complainant reported the machine next to the one missing money had not been broken into, but the lock was in the unlock position. The manager of the travel center advised the respond ing deputy that he would look at video to find out when the incident occurred and contact the BCSO. OTHER BURGLARIES AND THEFTS Other burglaries and thefts reported include: • theft by taking at an Apple Valley Road, Alto, residence. The complainant reported he found that 15 Leyland Cypress- type trees he planted on his property off Orchard Road had been pulled out of the ground and were missing. The com plainant reported six Leyland Cypress trees missing from the front of his property. The com plainant valued the missing trees at $525. •theft by taking at a Chitwood Road, Baldwin, residence. The complainant reported a 22-year-old male took his 1997 Ford Explorer from this residence while the complainant was sleeping. The responding deputy reported the vehicle was discovered with the 22-year-old male in the passenger’s seat. •theft by taking at a Hickory Flat Road, Gillsville, residence. The complainant reported the following items missing from outside his old residence: MTD lawn tractor, valued at $500; Husqvarna tiller, valued at $800; two Ryobi weedeaters, valued at $200; Ryobi leaf blower, valued at $100; two K-Dog surveillance cameras, valued at $100 and an antennae from the top of the residence, valued at $90. The complainant stated he noticed a new antennae on the roof of a neighboring residence. • theft by taking at a Loggins Trail, Commerce, residence. The complainant reported someone stole the tag off of his 2013 Dodge Durango. The complainant valued the miss ing tag at $20. •burglary at a Grant Mill Road, Alto, residence. The During the past week, the Banks County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of 16 peo ple. Those arrested and their charges include: •Johnathan Michael Battle, 22, 121 Payne Road, Homer, hit and run duty of driver to stop at or return to the scene of an accident and driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked. •Crystal Jean Beauchamp, 24, 210 Pless Drive, Alto, simple battery. •Stacy Douglas Bond, 25, 1568 Grant Mill Road, Alto, pro bation violation. • Kevin Bryan Carlan, 48,254 Chatham Road, Homer, remov ing or affixing a license plate with the intent to misrepresent the identity of a vehicle, no tag, driving under the influence (DU1) of drugs, and possession of methamphetamine. • Joseph Anthony Carlyle, 33, 2125 Cole Road, Carnesville, financial transaction card fraud and card theft. •Brandon Dekota Ellis, 19, 1212 Park Avenue, Baldwin, driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked. •Jonathan Lee Elrod, 33, 145 Loggins Road, Commerce, mandatory school attendance complainant reported some one broke into the vacant resi dence and stole a wood heater valued at $2,000, light fixture valued at $100, copper wire and copper tubing valued at $500. The complainant report ed several windows were dam aged and opened and slight damaged was done throughout the house. • theft by taking at a Highway 51 North, Homer, residence. The complainant reported his hunting blind valued at $100 had been stolen from property across from his residence and trash had been left on the prop erty. The complainant reported he found receipts on the prop erty that had a male’s name on them. The complainant stated he looked up the male’s name on the internet and found out the male was running from crimes against children offens es. The complainant advised the responding deputy that he was concerned with the male being in the area. • burglary at a Vaughan Road, Homer, residence. The complainant reported he had two guns - a .32 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver and a .22 long Winchester rile - stolen from him. •burglary at an Abernathy Mobile Home Park, Alto, residence. The complainant reported the following items missing from the residence of a male who is incarcerated in the Hall County Jail: Kenmore dryer; Phillips TV; Sylvania window air conditioning unit; Kenmore window air condi tioning unit; various automotive tools; title to a Dodge Dakota truck and various DVDs. The complainant stated a witness provided the name of a male who was seen loading items from the residence into a truck. •theft at Walmart, Highway 441 South, Commerce. The complainant reported a male and a female came into Walmart and stole several items. The complainant pro vided a name for the couple. •theft by taking on Damascus Road, Baldwin. The complainant reported due to problems she had to leave her 1996 Chevrolet S-10 truck valued at $2,000 on the side of Damascus Road and when she returned the next day to retrieve the truck it was gone. The complainant stated she left a note on the truck explaining the situation. The responding officer reported he checked to see if the truck had been towed, but there was no record of a vehicle being towed from that area. and contempt of court (child support). • Eli Joshua Hughes, 29, 105 Cedar Drive, Alto, disorderly conduct. • Edwin Henry Johncox, 33, 448 Camp Road, Eastonallee, fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked, no insurance, reckless driving and no tag registration. • Camilla Cantrell Jones, 31, 221 Nix Road, Alto, obstructing or hindering a law enforce ment officer. •Jamie Megan Lord, 24, 884 Historic Homer Highway, Homer, disorderly conduct. •Derrick Tavonte Mitchell, 26,221 Nix Road, Alto, obstruct ing a law enforcement officer. •Jenna Lee Newell, 29, Highway 211 NW, Winder, fraud - financial identity and finan cial transaction card fraud. • Matthew O’Brien, 50, 3827 Peace Pipe Drive, Orlando, Fla., public drunkenness and public indecency. • David Lee Pingley, 30, 390 Stonepile Street, Baldwin, con tempt of court - child support. • Julie Faye Reynolds, 37, 121 Tomlin Way, Commerce, disor derly conduct. revoked on Old Highway 441 at Otis Brown Road, Baldwin, where a traffic stop was initi ated on the driver of a 1995 Volkswagen Jetta. • open door at Verizon Wireless, Steven B. Tanger Boulevard, Commerce. The deputy reported he was check ing the doors and found the rear door at Verizon Wireless open. The deputy reported he cleared the building and had Banks County 9-1-1 Dispatch get the keyholder in route. The deputy reported the key- holder arrived and advised that everything was fine, but she needed a report for disci plinary purposes. The deputy reported the keyholder re secured the building. • dog bite at a Grove Level Road, Commerce, residence. The complainant reported she carried her friend home and assisted her into the house and as she was returning to her vehicle a red dog came up behind her. The complain ant stated the dog attempted to bite her left leg, but only scraped it as she pulled her leg away. The complainant stated the dog was a stray, but had taken up residence at the complainant’s friend’s house and the dog’s shot record was unknown. The responding deputy reported he had 9-1-1 dispatch contact the county marshal ‘s office in reference to the situation. • possession of metham phetamine at Mack & Buck’s, Historic Homer Highway, Homer, where a suspicious item was found in a 2000 GMC Jimmy that had been towed. •harassment by phone at a Government Drive, Alto, residence. The complainant reported that her and her ex- husband are in the process of a custody dispute over their 13-year-old juvenile daughter. The complainant reported that she and her daughter have received numerous phone calls and text mes sages from her ex-husband and he was threatening to come to her residence and take their daughter and all her clothing. The responding officer reported he advised the complainant to contact the clerk of court for a tempo rary protective order and to contact her attorney for other possible remedies. • affixing materials that reduce or increase light transmission/reflectance on windows/windshield and driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked on Interstate 85 north bound at mile marker 154, Commerce, where a traffic stop was initi ated on the driver of a 2004 Nissan Titan. • dispute at a Highway 441, Commerce, motel. The front desk clerk reported there were some men at the hotel attempting to meet with the woman that was in one of the motel’s rooms. The respond ing officer reported he spoke with one of the men who iden tified himself as the woman’s During the period of March 25 through March 31, the Baldwin Police Department made responded to the fol lowing incidents: • theft by taking - gas drive off at Hasty Mart, Willingham Avenue, Baldwin. The com plainant reported the theft of $10 in gas. • financial transaction card fraud at a Parker Street, Baldwin, residence. The State troopers from the Gainesville Post of the Georgia State Patrol investi gated 45 traffic crashes dur ing the month of March in Banks County. Sergeant First Class M.C. Johnson said the traffic crashes resulted in 23 injuries. SFC Johnson said troopers father. The man said he was concerned about his daugh ter and her children. The man said his daughter had several cases in Habersham County. The officer reported he went to the motel room and spoke with the woman who stated that everything was O.K. with her and the children. The officer reported the woman allowed him inside the room and the room appeared clean and the children were O.K. The officer reported he veri fied the cases in Habersham County and then returned to speak with the woman and she stated she was aware of her conditions on her bond. The officer reported the woman allowed the children to go with their grandfather who was going to pick up another child in Baldwin and return to Habersham County. • possible automobile acci dent and damage to prop erty on Interstate 85 north bound at mile marker 158.5, Carnesville. A BCSO deputy reported as he was check ing for a possible automobile accident on Interstate 85 he heard and felt a loud pop in the front of his patrol vehicle. The deputy stated when he checked the vehicle he saw a tractor brake drum lodged in between the front passenger side fender well. •lost/stolen tag report ed by a male to the Banks County Sheriff’s Office, Windmill Farm Road, Homer. The complainant reported he let his friend borrow his 2008 Currahee trailer and when he returned it the tag was miss ing from the trailer. • criminal damage to prop erty at an Old Highway 441, Baldwin, residence. The complainant reported he had a renter that had not been evicted and still had things inside the house. The com plainant reported the female owed him back rent and was in the middle of moving out. The complainant stated he came by the residence and found several windows had been broken out, two heat ers were missing and curtains had been removed. The com plainant stated the female renter said she would be back later to pick up more of her things. •lost or stolen tag at a Queen Road, Gillsville, resi dence. The complainant reported he noticed his per manent trailer tag missing and he needed a report to replace it. • prowler call at a Hummingbird Pie Drive, Lula, residence. The female com plainant reported he dogs began to bark at someone outside her residence. The complainant stated when she went to see who it was she didn’t see anyone, but could hear someone walk ing in the woods in front of her residence. The respond ing deputy reported he searched the area, but didn’t locate anyone. •possession of an open complainant reported some one had used her credit cards without permission. • abandoned vehicle on Highway 365 south bound at Thompson Road, Baldwin. An officer on patrol report ed a 2002 GMC Sierra truck abandoned in the turn lane of Thompson Road on Highway 365. The officer reported the truck was towed from the roadway. from Post 6 also issued 207 traffic citations in the coun ty during the month. The total includes five arrests for driving under the influence, 143 citations for speeding, 20 seat belt violations, and three child restraint viola tions. Troopers also issued 229 warnings. alcohol container and seat belt violation on Interstate 85 south bound at mile marker 151, Commerce, where a traf fics top was initiated on the driver of a 2005 GMC Envoy. • miscellaneous offenses at Krystals, Highway 441, Commerce, where a damage to vehicle was reported. The complainant reported as she was traveling on Interstate 85 south around the 150 mile marker she hit a recap tire off of a semi truck causing moderate damage to the driv er’s side bumper of her 2005 Honda Odyssey van. •miscellaneous at a Rose Lane, Commerce, residence, where a dispute in progress was reported. The complain ant reported that her ex-broth- er-in-law had turned her water off. The complainant reported this had happened before and that she was advised by the water treatment department that she had water rights due to her being supplied water for 12 years. The responding officer reported he spoke with the complainant’s ex-brother- in-law and he stated he did shut the water off and that he had told the complainant she had 30 days to get her own water. The complainant’s ex- brother-in-law stated he was tired of paying for the electric ity to supply the complainant water and the only reason he ever supplied the water was for his brother and his brother no longer lived at the residence. • simple assault and simple battery at a Duncan Road, Commerce, residence. The complainant reported a 67-year-old man began screaming and yelling at her from his residence. The complainant stated the man threatened to kill her and her family and he was hit ting things in his yard. The responding deputy reported he spoke with the man and he stated during an earlier incident he was jumped on by the complainant and hit sev eral times about the face. The deputy reported both parties were advised of the warrant procedures and to leave each other alone. •harassment at a T.S. Farms, Homer, residence. The male and female com plainants reported that their neighbor had been calling and harassing them. The complainants stated they had asked the neighbor not to call them after work because that was their family time. • criminal damage to prop erty at a Gainesville Highway, Alto, residence. The com plainant reported someone damaged her 2006 Nissan Maxima while she was at work at Mount Vernon Mills. The complainant estimated the damage at $1,800. • driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked on Interstate 85 north bound at mile marker 154, Commerce, where a traf fic stop was initiated on the driver of a 2004 Dodge Ram 1550 truck. •damage to property on Highway 323, Gillsville, where a driver reported striking two deer that ran in front of his vehicle causing damage to the vehicle. •warrant service at the Dandelion Inn, Highway 441, Commerce. • legal question at a Highway 441 South, Commerce, loca tion, where the complainant reported damage to his 2008 Ford Crown Victoria. • driving away without paying for gasoline at the Golden Pantry, Historic Homer Highway, Homer. The complainant reported a man pumped $65 in diesel fuel into a newer model Chevrolet Silverado and left without pay ing. • found items at Dollar General, Evans Street, Homer. The complainant reported a clear plastic bag with a green leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana was found inside the store. •found wallet at a Cotton Road, Commerce, residence. The complainant reported his friend was walking up the road and found a wallet that belonged to a man who lived on Cotton Road. • miscellaneous at a Loggins Lane, Commerce, residence, where a domes tic dispute was reported. The female complainant reported she make a cake for dinner and her father was getting himself some cake without using a spatula. The complain ant stated she began arguing with her father and they threw a urinating jug at each and other and her father threw his walking cane behind him and it struck her on her mouth and she called 9-1-1. The complainant’s father stated the two were “horse playing” about the cake and she threw a spatula at him and it struck him on the head so he threw it back at her. The respond ing officer reported both par ties agreed to separate and they advised the dispute was resolved. •simple battery - fam ily violence act at Outback Steakhouse, Pottery Factory Drive, Commerce, where a fight in progress was reported. • terroristic threats and acts, aggravated assault and criminal trespass at a Stoney Creek Road, Maysville, resi dence, where a domestic dis pute was reported.
