A 30-year-old Baldwin man died
in a one-vehicle accident on Friday
morning, Sept. 5, when his vehicle
left the roadway and lost control.
Trooper Nic Johnson of the
Georgia State Patrol said a 2002
Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by
Rogelio Zavala-Mora, 260 Midnight
Street, Apt. D-4, spun out across
the road and hit the ditch on the
opposite side of the road head
on and overturned. The vehicle
flipped over and landed back on
its wheels.
“The driver was not wearing his
seatbelt and was killed instantly,
Johnson said.
The wreck occurred on Industrial
Park Road, just off Duncan Bridge
Road, and the road was shut down
for almost two hours.
Johnson said he is not sure what
caused Zavala-Mora to run off the
road, but it was an uphill curve to
the left and he went off the right
side initially and over-corrected
and slid sideways to the opposite
side of the road.
