However, long-held myths hold on forever, especially in the hearts of competing media salesmen. Data developed by American Opinion Research (AOR) dispels most of these shibboleths and casts a clear and bright light on newspapers' strengths. AOR is one of the nation's top independent research firms, with no links to any specific client or organization. AOR's clients include Procter and Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, General Motors, Citi Bank, The New York Times Company, Seattle Times, McGraw-Hill, Berlitz and many others. Shoppers turn to the internet first when planning a major product purchase.
