Week of October 15-21 Tommy Arnett Green Jr. DANIELSVILLE — Tommy Amett Green Jr., 46, Danielsville, passed away at home on Tuesday, Octo ber 10, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Bom in Port Charlotte, Florida, on October 12, 1976, he was the son of Tommy Amett Green Sr. and Laura Green. Tommy was preced ed in death by one son, Tommy Amett Green III; and grandparents, Willie Green, Miles Ingersoll, Phyllis Ingersoll and Mary Neal Smith. Along with his par ents, he is survived by his five children, Destiny Van Burkleo, Charleston, South Carolina, Isaiah Green, Young Harris, Isaac Green, Demorest, Prophet Green, Benicia, California, and Prophecy Green, Benicia, California; grandfather, Myzell Smith, Arkansas; one sister, Toi Watson, Demorest; and two nephews, Ma lik Green, Danielsville, and Liam Watson, Demorest. Tommy worked as an assistant manager at Goodwill for many years. He loved watching sports and was an avid Oakland Raiders and Golden State Warriors fan. Tommy was a hard worker and pushed his children to always be uniquely themselves. He always told his children, “Do You.” Having grown up in a military family, Tommy moved to many different states and spent nine years of his childhood in Europe. Of all the places Tom my lived and visited, his heart belonged to California. He attended school in the following locations, Ber lin, Gemiany; East Point; Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; Grafenwoehr, Gemiany; Vilseck, Gemiany; Ft. Ir win California; and graduated in Jacksonville, Flor ida. Tommy’s name was published in “Who’s Who Among American High Schools Students.” Tommy played soccer from the age of four throughout his childhood. He ran track in high school. Tommy was a passionate volunteer for conservative causes in Marietta, where he resided and worked for many years. Week of October 15-21 Sara Frances Reynolds Hanson JEFFERSON — Sara Frances Reynolds Hanson, 84, Jefferson, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. “Mrs. Frances” was bom in Pendergrass, a loving daughter to the late Rev. James Arthur Reynolds and the late Ola Mae Davidson Reynolds. “Mrs. Frances” retired from Jackson EMC and as well as finding joy in her work, she gained life long friendships there as well. “Mrs. Frances” was a person of kindness, grace and humility whose life was defined by how much love she could give to all those around her. She adored her family and was blessed to have the daughter she dreamed of, her “Sweetheart Vicki Gina”. While “Mrs. Frances” would be reluctant to admit it, she was a woman of many talents. She could sing and play piano by ear, bake the world’s best pecan pie and Gemian chocolate cake and make any plant she touched flourish. “Mrs. Frances” loved spending time with family, feeding and watching her hummingbirds, working on her word search puzzle books and enjoying the out side with her sweet kitty, Midnight. Through faith and prayer, “Mrs. Frances” led a life of devotion to Jesus. She was a true example of a bib lical woman, one we all should strive to imitate. “Mrs. Frances’” positive outlook on life was infectious and was reflected in her favorite book of the Bible, Rev elation. This was her favorite book to read because it showed that everything turns out good in the end, God is victorious and evil is defeated. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hanson was preced ed in death by her husband, Harris O’Neal Hanson; and her brothers and sisters, Ralph Reynolds, Mary Lorena Johnston, Carl Reynolds, Annie Grace Beatty, Louis Reynolds, Hemian Reynolds, Eugene Reyn olds and Christine Reynolds. She loved her family deeply and is rejoicing with them all now in Heaven. Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Allen and her husband Matthew, Commerce; brother, Rev. Clarence Reynolds and his wife Barbara, Cornelia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Hall Standard Bonnie S. Hall Standard, 90, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2023. A lifelong resident of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Otho Adams and Vallie McCurdy Adams. Bonnie enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach. Her favorite thing to do though was spend time with her family, especially her grandchil dren. She worked at General Times, the University of Georgia Library and was secretary to the president of Gwinnett Technical College and was also the secre tary at the ASCS office in Lexington. Bonnie loved the Lord and lived her life to the full est, she was a member of Colbert Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence T. Hall; son, Thom as “Tommy” Hall; and her sisters, Elsie Adams and Wanda Jean Nash. Survivors include her second husband, Almond Standard; daughter, Terri H. Myers; daughter-in-law, Pam Hall; grandchildren, Jason T. Week of October 15-21 Thelma Maddox Swancey PENDERGRASS — Thelma Maddox Swancey, 90, Pendergrass, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 13, 2023. Thelma was a lifetime resident of Jackson County. She was bom in Pendergrass to her late parents, Rev. L. C. Maddox and Elbe Mae (Irvin) Maddox on July 12,1933. Thelma came to know Jesus as her personal Savior as a teen and was of the Baptist faith. She graduated from Braselton High School in 1951 and later retired from Barrow Manufacturing in Wind er. Thelma was a dedicat ed and loving daughter, wife, sister and aunt. She delighted in simple things in life. Thelma enjoyed beautiful flowers, spend ing time with family, making cakes and puddings to share, attending church, reading the Bible and any thing chocolate. She had a gentle, sweet spirit and a heartfelt smile that let you know she was truly glad to see you. In addition to her parents, Thelma is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Swancey; and her twin brother, Rev. Elmer Maddox.
