Jesus came to change the world
Just like that in a blink of an eye,
Christmas Day is upon us. I know we
all look forward to fellowship with
friends and family, a beautiful time
to both give and receive, and all the
other festivities that shine during the
season.
Let’s take a moment to reflect on the
true meaning of Christmas and what it
means to all of mankind. Remember
that Christmas signifies the birth of
our Lord Jesus Christ.
He was sent to earth, knowing what
was ahead of him. Jesus’s birth was
one of the biggest steps in God’s plan
of redemption. On Christmas, we get
to celebrate that beginning, and we
know what lies ahead for us.
People had been looking for a Mes
siah to no avail, but Jesus came on
the scene. He didn’t look like a king,
a Savior, but He came into the world
with such humble beginnings. Think
about it.
There was no room at the inn, so
the Savior made His appearance in a
manger located inside a stable. Man
kind had never experienced or could
fathom how Jesus could change lives.
One may ask this question. How in
the world did Almighty God make this
decision? Not only did Jesus come so
we could experience abundant life on
earth, but he is our hope for eternity. It
is simple. It came
down to love.
John 3:16-17
tells us, “For God
so loved the world,
that he gave his
only Son, that
whoever believes
in him should not
perish but have
eternal life.
For God did not
send his Son into
the world to condemn the world, but
in order that the world might be saved
through his love.
While Romans 5:8 says, “But God
commended his love toward us, in
that, while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us.” We should never doubt
His love for us.
When we think of the arrival of Je
sus Christ we should realize He gives
us a future. The purpose of Jesus’ birth
was to live a blameless life, and one
day lay it down, taking upon himself
the burden of sin so that we could be
saved. His birth prepared the way for
his death, and the redemption of all
mankind.
While He walked the earth, He had a
heart for the people. He opened blind
ed eyes; he raised a boy to life because
of the faith of His father, and Jesus
wept when He learned of the death
of his good friend Lazarus whom He
raised from the dead.
Jesus still has compassion on us to
day. It is not His will that any should
perish, but that all should come to re
pentance. The door to a personal rela
tionship with Him is still open today.
Christmas is a day of remembrance.
It is a day to reflect on the gift of God’s
Son, who walked on this earth know
ing what was ahead of him, yet he per
severed. He is the greatest gift we will
ever receive.
On Christmas He was bom. He later
died so we could live an everlasting
life. Even death didn’t hold Him down.
Three days later He was brought back
to life and soon ascended to heaven.
Today, He is sitting at the right hand of
the Father praying for us, and look up,
I promise you,
He is soon coming again on a white
horse to bring His children home for
all of eternity. Look up, my friends,
our redemption is drawing nigh.
Merry Christas to each and every
one. Let us enjoy our day to the full
est, but may we never forget the hue
meaning of this wonderful birthday of
Jesus Christ the Lord.
