Julian Forrest Armstrong Sr.
JEFFERSON — Julian Forrest Armstrong Sr., 84,
Jefferson, entered rest Monday, December 18, 2023.
Mr. Armstrong was
bom in Rome, a son of
the late Lewis Vollie
Armstrong and the late
Dorothy Josephine Tant
Armstrong. Mr. Arm
strong was a retired heavy
equipment operator with
McDougal-Warren Con
struction Company.
Mr. Armstrong was a
very loving husband, fa
ther and grandfather and
was known throughout the area for being such a giv
ing person.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Armstrong is preced
ed by a son, Egbert Daniel Armstrong; brothers, John
Lewis Armstrong and James David Armstrong; and
step-father, James Scarborough.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Margaret
Louise Cates Armstrong, Jefferson; sons, Julian For
rest Armstrong Jr. (Brenda), Cleveland, and James
Allen Armstrong (Lynda), Commerce; daughter,
Laurie Ann Decker (Joe), Winder; sisters, Lottie Mae
Webb, Stockbridge, Donna Linda Armstrong, Dal
las, Eunice Faye Pickens, Tucker, and Mary Eliza
beth Howell, Kennesaw; brothers, Donnie Kenneth
Armstrong, Oxford, and Johnnie Milton Armstrong,
Winder; and grandchildren, Rosie Marie Armstrong,
Christina Renee Armstrong, Julian Forrest Arm
strong III, Danielle Nicole Decker, Caroline Haw
kins and Emily Hawkins.
Funeral service: Thursday, December 21, 2023, at
2 p.m. from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with
the Reverend Ricky Thrasher officiating with buri
al to follow in Evans Memory Gardens. Gentlemen
honored as pallbearers are Lee Cates, Keith Whitley,
Jason Rutledge, Joey Smith, Favio Fortola, and Ju
lian Forrest Armstrong III.

George Terence "Terry” Bennett
BRASELTON — George Terence “Terry” Ben
nett, 68, Braselton, passed away on Monday, Decem
ber 18,2023.
Mr. Bennett was a son
to the late William Thom
as “Bill” Bennett and the
late Ruth Jennings Ben
nett. Mr. Bennett was a
graduate of Athens Tech
nical College and was the
owner of Premier Pump
and Equipment.
Survivors include his
wife, Sherry Dee Jones
Bennett, Braselton; son,
Adam Clay Bennett,
Flowery Branch; and granddaughter, Avril Bennett.
Funeral service: Friday, December 22, 2023, at
11 a.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with

Mary Jane Osgood (Solie) Cram
Mary Jane Osgood (Solie) Cram passed away
Monday, December 18,2023, following an extended
illness.
Mary Jane was bom
to Thelma Mallon Ber
yl (Osgood) and Henry
Adolf Solie in Stoneham,
Massachusetts, on No
vember 15, 1945. She
was the granddaughter of
Ada Evelyn Osgood and
Andrew Wyle Osgood of
Windsor, Vermont.
Mary Jane graduat
ed from Windsor High
School in 1963 and be
gan a career at Cone Automatic Machine Shop in the
accounting office from 1963 to 1967. On April 11,
1964, she married Roger Allen Cram, son of Kenneth
Allen Cram and Marylin Whitney Cram.
Following her husband’s discharge from the United
States Navy, the couple relocated to Derby Line, Ver
mont, where Roger joined the Vermont State Police.
The couple had two sons, Christopher Colin Cram,
bom on May 20, 1965, and Michael Evan Cram,
bom on November 25, 1969.
In 1971, when Roger transferred to the Vermont
State Motor Vehicle Department, the family moved
to Rutland, Vermont. In 1973, Roger was transferred
to Montpelier, and at that time, the family made
Richmond, Vermont, their home, residing there for
38 years.
In 1976, Mary Jane began working with the Ver
mont Department of Health, where she held various
positions over 33 years, until her retirement in 2009.
After retiring, Mary Jane and Roger chose to retire
to the warmth of Georgia, bidding farewell to the
snowy winters.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband, Roger, of
nearly 60 years; her son, Christopher and his wife,
Lisa Swann, and her grandson, Harris Cram.
Mary Jane was predeceased by her son Michael,
who passed away in 2017 due to exposure to chem
icals during his military service in Afghanistan and
Iraq.
A funeral service to celebrate Mary Jane’s life will
be held at a later date in Jefferson. Interment will take
place at the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph,
Vermont, at the family’s convenience.
May she rest in peace, and may her legacy of love
and warmth continue to inspire all who knew her.

Billy Junior Crowe
HOMER — Billy Junior Crowe, 82, Homer, died
Friday, December 22,2023, at his residence.
Mr. Crowe was bom in Jefferson to the late Bill
Crowe and Fannie Thomas Potts. He was a member
of Webbs Creek Baptist Church and was retired after
34 years as a lineman with Walton EMC and Jackson
EMC.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Crowe was preceded
in death by his son, Dudley Alan Crowe; a his sister,
Betty Garrett.
Mr. Crowe is survived by his wife, Nora June Allen
Crowe, Homer; and two grandchildren.
Funeral service: Wednesday, December 27, 2023,
at 2 p.m. at Webbs Creek Baptist Church with the
Revs. Roy Rogers and Darvin Cash officiating. Inter
ment will follow in Jackson Memorial Gardens.
Family to receive friends: Tuesday, December 26,
2023, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

James "Buddy” Wilson Dove
DANIELSVILLE — James “Buddy” Wilson Dove,
86, Danielsville, passed away on Tuesday, December
19, 2023, at his home.
Mr. Dove was bom
in Royston on May 20,
1937, son of the late El
mer “Dock” Dove and the
late Adelle Walker Dove.
He was a body shop own
er, poultry famier and
United States Army Vet
eran having served with
the 101st Airborne Divi
sion. Mr. Dove was also
a member of the Royston
Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by his daughter, Karen Dove; and sister, Delcie
Royston.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa King Dove;
daughter, Tara Dove, Danielsville; sons, Ronny Dove
(Michelle), Hartwell, and James Fred “Freddy” Dove
(Brittany), Martin; brothers, Hemian Dove (Barba
ra), Danielsville, and Johnny Dove, Royston; sisters,
Hollis Helon (John), Clarkesville, and Bonnie Pinson,
Loganville; grandchildren, Kristopher Dove, Johna
than Dove, Landon Dove, Josiah Dove, Jemma Dove
and Jessalyn Dove; and great-grandchildren, Korben
Dove and Kysen Dove.
Funeral service: Saturday, January 6,2024, at 3 p.m.
in the Royston Church of God with the Revs. James
Gunn and Eddie Wiggins and James Fred “Freddy”
Dove officiating.
Family to receive friends: Saturday, January 6,
2024, from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Royston Church of
God. During other times the family will be at their
respective homes.

Jimmy A. Echols
ALTO — Jimmy A. Echols, 87, Alto, passed away
on Friday, December 22, 2023.
Mr. Echols was bom
on December 18, 1936,
in Hall County to the
late George Duncan and
Vemie Smith Echols. In
addition to his parents, he
was preceded in death by
his loving wife of nearly
65 years, Valvoreth Mor
rison Echols.
Mr. Echols was a very
active member and dea
con of Enon Baptist
Church for over 65 years. He along with his wife,
Valvoreth, founded Jaemor Farms in 1981, where
he was very passionate about serving the communi
ty day in and day out for over 40 years. Jimmy was
proud of his family, his farm and his faith in Jesus
and will be remembered as a loving husband, father,
grandfather and great-grandfather and was known as
“Pop” to his grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Te
resa and Bmce Jackson, Alto; sons and daughters-in-
law, Tim Echols, Alto, Jarl and Beth Echols, Alto, Ju
dah and Kelly Echols, Alto, and Jonathan and Denise
Echols, Gillsville; sisters and brother-in-law, Janice
Echols Dale and Bob, Alto, and JoAnn Echols Brock,
Lula; 20 grandchildren; 39 great- grandchildren with
the 40 great-grandchild on the way; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Funeral service: Wednesday, December 27, 2023,
at 11 a.m. at Enon Baptist Church with the Revs.
Leon Miller and Jeff Worley officiating. Interment
will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev.
Ricky Elrod officiating.

2023 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Enon Baptist
Church.
Mr. Echols will lie in state from 3 to 6 p.m. Tues
day, December 26, 2023, at the church for those that
wish to pay their respect outside of the visiting hours
with family.

Constance Marchell Flynn
Constance Marchell Flynn, resident of Athens, GA,
passed peacefully in her home in the company of her
family on Thursday, December 21,2023.
Connee was bom on
Brooklyn, New York to
Alexander Marchell and
Cornelia Mazurkiewiecz.
Connee attended art
school and worked as a
graphic designer with
an advertising firm in
Brooklyn until marry
ing Billy Eugene Flynn
in 1961. They moved
to Athens in 1968 after
Bill’s service of 23 years
in the U.S. Marines Corp to raise their two sons.
Along with being a devoted mother, grandmother
and great-grandmother, Connee was an avid gar
dener, watercolorist and print-maker. She was active
with the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF),
the Lydnon House Arts Center and was a member at
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Connee was predeceased by her husband, Bill, on
December 11, 2010.
She is survived by her brother, John Marchell; and
sister, Eleanor Fabiszak and their families; as well as
her two sons and their families, Michael Flynn, wife
Ellen, children, Eric Flynn and Caroline Barnwell,
and grandchildren, Elijah and Andrew; and Tracy
Flynn, wife Dana, and children, Seth Ruji and Matia
Miles.
A virtual Celebration of Life will be held on Tues
day, December 26, 2023, at 10 a.m. More informa
