Canton to John Tyra and Marie Vaughn Mundy.

serving others as a para
medic and EMT in Cum-
ming and Athens, from
1979 until 1999. He then
became an instructor and
Clinical Coordinator for
the EMT/Paramedic Pro
gram at Athens Technical
College until his retire
ment in 2020.
Plans for Jack’s celebra
tion of life service to be

Edward Herschel “Jack” Nunn Sr.
CARLTON — Edward Herschel “Jack” Nunn Sr.,
82, Berkeley Road, Carlton, husband of 53 years to
Priscilla Veronica Plain Nunn, passed away peacefully
on Friday, December 29, 2023, at his residence.
Jack was bom in Madison County on May 23, 1941,
son of the late David Edgar “Jack” Nunn and Ruby Lee
Phillips Nunn. In addition to his parents, he is preceded
in death by his siblings, Mary Archer, Delores Chandler
and Herbert Nunn.
He was the former owner/operator of Jack’s Profes
sional Business where he specialized in plumbing and
electrical work. Jack later retried from the maintenance
department at the University of Georgia after 15 years
of service.
A former member of Bishop Baptist Church, he was
a present member of Victory Baptist Church. Jack was
proud to have been inducted to the Grand Ole Opry
Hall of Fame for his gospel music talents. He loved
sharing the gospel and organized a prison ministry for
many years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Priscilla, are his
children and their spouses, Lisa Dalton and Ricky,
Bonnie Short and Wesley, Tammy Silver and Terry,
Jenny Nunn-Mills and Jeff, and Edward Nunn Jr.; sibli-
ings, Marie Buckman and Jim, and David Nunn; many
grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of other
relatives.
Funeral service: Thursday, January 4,2023, at 11 a.m.
at Victory Baptist Church in Dewy Rose with the Revs.
Sean Baughman and Steve Powers officiating. Grave
side service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Union Christian
Church Cemetery in Watkinsville.
Family to receive friends: Thursday, January 4, 2023,
from 10-10:45 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Dewy
Rose.

Lucy Claire Smith
WINDER — Lucy Claire Smith, 92, Winder, passed
away Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
She was a former mem
ber of Walnut Grove
Methodist Church. Lucy
was known for her kind
words by her family and
friends. They describe her
as someone who extreme
ly loved everyone and was
selfless and generous.
She loved to dance and
was an avid square danc
er; she loved reading the
paper and solving search-
a-word puzzles. She was a
retired line inspector from Lithonia Lighting, where she
worked for 33 years.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, William
Curtis Saunders Sr. and Lillie Mae Smith Saunders; her
first husband and father of her children, Buck Martin;
her husband, Mahlon Smith; a son, Michael Stephen
Martin; a daughter, Martha Jane Martin; a sister, Mary
Ann Payne; and her brothers, Randolph, Billy, Roscoe,
Walter and Buddy Saunders.
She is survived by her son, Donnie Martin (Connie),
Rincon; her daughters, Bonnie Owens (Gene), Coving
ton, and Karen Sutton (David), Lawrenceville; her sis
ters, Beggie Coe (Tom), Pensacola, Florida, and Marie
Sauls, Winder; sisters-in-law, Jane Saunders and Karla
Saunders; seven grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchil
dren.
Family to receive friends: Friday, December 29,2023,
from 4 until 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Winder.
Funeral service: Saturday, December 30, 2023, at
2 p.m. in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Pas
tor Robbie Clark officiating. Interment was in Barrow
Memorial Gardens.
Donations may be made in Lucy’s memory to St.
Jude Children’s Hospital.

Terry Weathersbee
ROYSTON — Terry Weathersbee, 66, Royston,
passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at her
home.
Ms. Weathersbee was
bom in Athens on January
31, 1957, daughter of the
late Kenneth Wilcox and
the late Linda Hawkins.
Survivors include her
son, Mitchell (Paula)
Weathersbee, Royston;
daughter, Kristy (Shane)
Strickland, Danielsville;
and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will
be held at a later date.

Frances Gabriella Martin Williams
ROYSTON — Frances Gabriella Martin Williams,
82, Royston, passed away on Wednesday, December
27, 2023, at the St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in
Lavonia.
Ms. Williams was bom in Danielsville on Novem
ber 14, 1941, daughter of the late H.T. Martin and the
late Sally Holloway Martin. She was a general laborer
having worked at Boaz and was a member of Springs
of Life in Amoldsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death
by her sister, Hendell McCollum.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Son
ya and Dale McCurry, Royston; sons and daughters-
in-law, Lamar and Madonna Williams, Royston, and
Michael and Christy Williams, Hull; sister, Elizabeth
Hayes, Danielsville; grandchildren, Bobby Smith, Jes
sie Duckett, Adrian Pitts, Candace McCannon, Dana
Moore, Bryson Williams, Reece Williams and Whit
Williams; great-grandchildren, Bailey Smith, Leigha
Duckett, Everette Duckett, Josslyn Moore, Daniel
Moore, Taylor Kennedy and Pressley Pitts; nieces,
Stephanie Gray, Gina Seymour and Lori Pethel; and
nephew, Tony McCollum.
A memorial service for Ms. Williams will be held at
a later date.
