Letter to the Editor
Says important outlook for Lula in 2024 is ‘a new beginning’
Dear Editor:
Mr. Mayor, under your
administration, we citizens
feel that you now have a
city manager, a city coun
cil and an outstanding city
attorney and city clerks,
among other employees,
who will all help you to
bring about the important
things that Lula, Georgia,
needs to offer its citizens,
including good housing, job
opportunities, a good edu
cation for children and other
things vital for a community
environment where phys
ical and mental health can
nourish. Please tell us if you
feel different and the reason
that you feel different. Why
can’t it happen and why
isn’t it happening?
So let all of us, regard
less of our status, love and
work together so we can
bring about everything that
the city of Lula needs to be
a city that everyone can be
proud of. Please don’t get
discouraged because we are
having preliminary victories
and success. Keep moving
forward for total victory for
it will come if we keep try
ing and don’t give up!
We can have a new res
urrection from the past and
start doing things to make
way for the necessary ac
tions that will help us
achieve our goals.
So now Mr. Mayor, we
citizens now feel that you
are surrounded by a strong
leadership team that can
take us forward in an effort
to supply the citizens of Lula
with the necessities of life
and the opportunities they
deserve. We are depending
on all of our government of
ficials to give the people the
things that can make the city
great. If we, as the people of
Lula, continue to serve
God, there is no telling
how far we can go to be a
place and a city that offers
residents a better life. The
past is behind us and the
future is what we make of
it with God’s help. We citi
zens of Lula aren’t going to
let the bad behavior of oth
ers now and in the past af
fect or block future success.
We citizens may have
been fooled in the past, but
we aren’t going to be silent
any longer. We must let our
city officials know what we
expect of them. We must let
them know our wishes. We
may have been bruised on
the outside, but we aren’t
dead in the inside. We are
moving from darkness into
light. Just always remember
that we have to get ready for
change. Sometime a small
adjustment can make a big
difference. This new year
of 2024 can bring about
things you can’t imagine.
We citizens are glad to see
new officials being elected
so things can be better, so
in each election let us elect
people who have a better vi
sion than those before them.
So, Mr. Mayor, do you
feel that the old ways of do
ing things need to change?
Do you feel the old advice
from others was what it
should have been? Was it
done in the interest of the
people? Do you now feel
that you have other city of
ficials around you who can
take this city of Lula where
it should be? Each one of us
should forever keep in mind
that whenever your mind is
limited so will be your vi
sion.
Sometimes, the friends
and other people around us
can keep us from reaching
our goals and destination.
Please let this year be a year
and a season for progress.
We citizens feel that this
year and the city officials we
now have can begin to lead
all of us into a better future
where everyone can prosper
and not a special few.
Sincerely,
Mordecai Wilson
Lula
