Omaha, Neb, Aug. 25.-William N. Williams, an avowed anarchist, in formed a fallow-workman that b* in tended to assastloate William J Bryan at the Jacksonian piomo this af'vrnoon, and appealed for assistance in carrying out bis murderous plot. Instead of promising to help h'm, bis fellow-workmen reported to the police tbe statement t f the anarchis', and be was promptly arrssted and is now be hmd the bars. Mr. Bryan arrived from bis home in Lincoln, aDd war told by tbe police of the plot against bis life. Tbe candidate took tbe mat ter calmly, but tbe deteetives were plaoed on guard, and watched every move of Mr. Bryan, and every suapi oious pei son was closely watohed. PICNIC AT ST. SIMON’S. Excursion U.ven by tbe Hilton & Dodge Cos. Darien, Ga., Aug. 25.—Tbe Hilton & Dodge Lumber Cos. yesterday gave to tbe company’s employee at Darien and their friends an excursion to S’. Si mon’s. About fifty persons, besides tbe employees of the D rien office, aocepted tbe company’s invitation and left tbe city on tbe tteamer Passport, at 9 o’clock in the morning, arriving home again at 10:30 o’clock at night. Tbe day was spent in tie usual pic nic etyh, including a big basket din ner, dancing and surf bathing. The excursion was given on the twenty-third anniversary of General Manager R. H. K iox’s connection with the company, and to him Ibe day was a doubly pleasant one, AN AMATEUR CLUB. It ia very likely that an ama eur b.aseball club will be organiz and here in a few days. Wi have som good local material, and a very good club could be bad. Lansseque, minister of marine, states that acting on the suggestion of General Frey, commander of the French troops in China, the commanders of the allies have decided to organize an in ternational commission similar to that which was established at Crete, and which will be entirely independent. Field Marshal Count von Walderse’s duties will be to select the points in China which may serve each power best as a base for provisioning and equipping its torces there. The impression preyails in army circles here that Frey’s action is intended to cut the ground trom under von Walderse’s teer. Ministers Murdered.
