of the Riflemen will decide whether or
not they will participate in tho Labor
day parade. It is to be hoped that the
company will accept the invitation ot
the unions aud asist in making the cel

Mr. Stetson Fleming informed a re
porter yesterday that bis horse would
not be in a condition to racy next Mon
day, but the Camden coun'y genlltman
who is so anxious to have a run will be
accommodated a-soon as Bay View Is
well again. This horse owner does n t
want to run for less than five hundred
dollars, but that will cut no figure with
those who admire Mr. Fleming's fast
racer, it would be an easy matter to make
a race for ten limes that amount here.
HAZING|RESTBICTIONS.
West Point, N. Y., Aug. 28 The
camp break up at the Military Academy
took place today, and with it comes the
second installment of the effort on the
part,of the authorities to do away with
the evils of hazing. A short time ag
four cadets who were found guilty of
this offense were gly en the “punishment
tour,” which embiaces extra guard duty
and confinement within the lines of the
camp This form of punishment expires
today, but a number of Ihe cade s will
be kept a . the academy for particitating
in hazing for one month, while all oth
ers go to their homes on furlough This
latter method is considered the worst
