HOGS SCARCE.
There Will Bea Big Advance io The
Price of Pork.
The Georgia farmer who has raised
hogs this year will be ririotly in it, ac
cording to all cf the latest reports. It
appears that there is a shortage of
hogs in other States, and the price ol
hog meat has advanced %to 1 cent
over last year’s prices.
Asa rule, the farmer in this Sr&te
raises more meat than is needed for
homeoonsumpticn am] baseometosil 1 .
The warehousemen in Brunswick say
that a good deal of meat has been
raised this year, and that the farmers
wilt have much more than they will
need for their own coasumpt : on. In
(his event, there will be sometosbip,
and the buyers will soon make their
appearanoe in the land.
The following article on hogs is
clipped from the Knoville S ntio-T:
“The first fall shipment ol bogs is
one to arrive in this city Thursday of.
this week, when a car load of sixty-elx

harder to get last yesr than for fifteen
years. At times, there were not a half

only are they expected to be very
