CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
The Times Calx is proud to state that
the list which has been recently circu
lated for the organization of a chamber
of commerce hae been signed by two
hundred of the beet citizens of Bruns
wick and Glynn county; In other words,
that it will necessarily be asudcees.
The organization meeting will be
held at 12 m. o'clock at the city hall,
Tuesday, October 2nd, 1900, and before
that meeting many more names will be
added to the list.
Such an organization Is practically
necessary to the material well being of
our ojty and county, and is demanded
by Brunsurink’s commercial importance.
It has tajjcei shape and is a success already
and It Is the public duty and tbe self
interest of all good citizens who a?e
interested In Brunswick, and who have
not yet joined In the movement, to come
forward amTsign the agreement, ot or
ganization. The list may not bo pre
sented to all, as It is being carried
around in the spare minutes by some of
our besy fellow citizens; but all who
haye not had an opporinity before should
attend the organization meeting on Oc
tober 2d, and at that time join bands by
signing their names.
Those gentlemen who started the
movement have formed no plans and
laid no schemes, but understand that
from Its naluie, to be a eariipl’ekr suc
cess, it must be a democratic body
where all personal feeling will be laid
aside, politics wijl not enter, and the
will of the majority must control in all
matters that come up for Us action; that
only from a full discussion by the mem
bers and fo’lowlng the views of the
m'ajdrlty after such dfeeuiaion, can ihe
best line of action be detent ned for
the good ot our city.
Tbe organisation meeting Is to be
held, as stated above, October 2d, 1900,
Tuesday next, at 12 Wo sin
cerely hope that every member who has
signed the list wi.l be present at said
’neeting and at every subsequent meet
