Mr. Edwin Brobston returned front
New York oily yesterday. He bee been
gone tome time end returns with good
newt for Brunswick. In an interview
witb a Timer-Call representative last
n’gbt he reports that a deal has been
made wberrby Mr. J. F. O'Shanghnessy
will immediately open up bis lands
adjoining the city and lay them nnt on
a plan of subdivision, and offer tbem
to aotnai settlers at reasonable prices
v.-
and on easy terms. A, j 0
S’me psop'e from St, Louis, Mo,
bave contracted to take several thous
i
and aores of this land and colonize it
with Herman emigrants from sou'hern
Russia. This movement is being fos
tered by the Southern Railway. It ia
proposed to begin bringing these people
here in time to raise crops for tbe sum
mer market, snd tbe first settlement
will besoms time in February.
Mr. O’Hbenghnessy expects to visit
Brunswick next month. Messrs. Rrob
ston, Feticig h Cos., represent him here
through Co', W, E. Kay, bis attorney.
The opening of these l.itds means
much to thir * nmunity. Heretofore
the small farmer has had no obaooe to
buy a place on easy terms beoause all
lands about tho city bave been held in
large bodies and at fancy prioea. But
the opening of lands as hare indioa'ed
will prove a great blessing and the
community will have every reason to
feel grateful.
Mr, O’Shanghnessy hie much faith
in Brunswick. He has large property
interests here and among other things
owns the Oglethorpe hotel.
