High school students complete Youth Leadership Glynn program

Twenty-nine local high school stu
dents recently completed the 2008-
09 Youth Leadership Glynn program.
In its 10th year and modeled after
Leadership Glynn, the youth program
identifies future leaders and educates
them about local businesses, education
and health care systems, government,
law enforcement, the tourism industry
and issues that affect the community.
Students from Brunswick High School,
Glynn Academy, Frederica Academy,
Brunswick Christian Academy and
Heritage Christian Academy partici
pated in the program.
Students are nominated by their
schools to participate in the Youth Lead
ership Glynn class, which is conducted
by the Brunswick-Golden Isles Cham
ber of Commerce. Molly Choate of Sun
Trust Mortgage and Butler Dawson of
PrimeSouth Bank served as program
coordinators. Local financial institu
tions supporting the Youth Leadership
Glynn class this year included Ameris,
Atlantic National Bank, BB&T, Bank
of America, The Coastal Bank of Geor
gia, First Glynn Bank, Heritage Bank,
Oglethorpe Bank, PrimeSouth Bank,
Sapelo Southern Bank, Security Bank,
Southeastern Bank, SunTrust Bank,
United Community Bank, Wachovia
and Marshland Credit Union.
