Summer Hours expand
at Fort Frederica
Beginning Sunday July 5 Ft. Fred
erica will be open from 9 a.m. until
6 p.m. from Sunday through Friday
and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 9
p.m.
These new hours will be effective
until Labor Day.
On Saturday evenings at 8:15 p.m.
the ranger staff will present programs
entitled “Sunset on the Fort” which
will focus on the period of Frederica’s
‘sunset’ years from 1742-1758.
This period saw Frederica slide
from active, hopeful settlement to
an almost abandoned town. The pro
gram will take place at the fort and
allow visitors to witness a sunset
over the Marshes of Glynn while they
learn about a lesser-known period of
Frederica’s history.
Visitors interested in attending
the Sunsets on the Fort programs are
encouraged to bring blankets or fold
ing chairs. Park entrance fees will be
charged. □
