DUI crack down
includes police
from 6 States
• 18th "Hands Across the
Border" DUI enforcement
This Labor Day, drunk drivers who
try to run from police in Georgia, will be
frustrated to find even more police wait
ing for them at every Georgia state line
- it’s Georgia’s annual Hands Across
The Border intra-state highway safety
crackdown.
This Labor Day law enforcement
tradition is now in its eighteenth year
of making roads throughout the south
east safer from drunk drivers.
“This campaign serves as an annual
reminder that Georgia and its neigh
bor states won’t tolerate any form of
impaired driving as summer revelers
members have been notified, and the
release of the names will not jeopardize
the safety of others or the integrity of
the Investigation.
A final press release as follows was
issued by Glynn police at 9:00 p.m. Sun
day, August 30.
The person(s) responsible for the
murder of eight persons that occurred
on August 29 in the New Hope Mobile
Home Park remains unknown to the
County Police. We need help in solv
ing this heinous crime and are offering
a reward of $25,000 for information
that leads to the arrest of the person(s)
responsible for the death of one or more
of the victims.
The autopsies of (4) of the victims
were completed today. The autopsies
for the remaining (3) victims found in
the mobile home, and the 8th victim
that was pronounced deceased at noon
today in a Savannah Hospital, is sched-
hit the road for their last vacation of
the season,” said Governor’s Office of
Highway Safety (GOHS) Director Bob
Dallas.
“Whether you’re coming to see
Georgia’s beautiful coast, travelling to
Tennessee’s majestic mountains, or vis
iting any great southeastern vacation
destination, our message is clear: If you
drive drunk, your itinerary will also
include a memorable trip to a Georgia
jail,” Dallas said,
For six days leading up to the Labor
Day weekend, police, sheriffs deputies
and State Troopers throughout Georgia
will rendezvous at state Welcome Cen
ters for interviews with news media
and photo-ops with handshakes and
helicopters to promote highway safety
education. But it’s not just about local
TV, radio and newspaper coverage -

SPRUCE UP!
Your home is a big investment. Why not make it worth even more? Let’s
discuss some of the best ways to do so. First, spruce up the siding. Old
siding can set the tone. Try adding curb appeal and lower maintenance
with composite siding or cement board siding which is efficient and lasts
a long time.
Make minor bathroom changes. Old tile, a dated tub, sink and/or toilet
need to be replaced. Next, try to revive your kitchen. Get rid of wallpaper;
paint the walls a neutral color and replace your appliances with those
new, stainless steel brands. Remember, kitchens sell houses.
Keep rooms flexible. If you have a unique specialty room, try to make
that space one that can easily be converted for another use. Renovate
your attic to a large, bonus room. That small, dusty space above a garage
can end up being a great addition.
Finally, don’t be afraid of paint. It’s one of the easiest and least
expensive things to do to dramatically change your “look.” You may
also consider adding a deck. This is one improvement that can recoup
approximately 76 percent return on your investment. Since your home is
your castle, seriously consider keeping it up-to-date at all times.
