KGIB welcomes new board members
As a volunteer community based 501C3 education nonprofit, KGIB is governed
by a volunteer Board of Directors that works hard to raise funds, provide support
and help in KGIB efforts however they can. Serving the Golden Isles since 1979,
Keep Golden Isles Beautiful is a Keep America Beautiful and Keep Georgia
Beautiful Foundation affiliate and focuses on waste reduction and recycling, litter
prevention, community greening, water resource awareness and education.

GICCA schedules community luncheon
The Golden Isles College and Ca
reer Academy (GICCA) will hold its
first community luncheon Thursday,
December 6 at 11:30 a.m. in the Tony
Thaw Conference Room at the school.
Chef Haley and Chef Angel will
lead the culinary students in making
an lunch. The cost for the meal is $12.
While not a fundraiser, it is an oppor
tunity for our students to get real-life

event offered an opportunity for at
tendees to meet the Palliative Care
Center’s physician and staff, as well
as learn about the services avail
able at the Health System.
The SGHS Palliative Care Cen
ter provides inpatient and outpa
tient palliative care in partnership
with Golden Isles Palliative Care.
These programs coordinate with
the patient’s attending physician to
provide patients and families with
extra support and the opportunity
to discuss and establish the goals of
care.
Palliative medicine is specialized
treatment for people with chronic or
serious illness and has become the
fastest-growing medical specialty in
the United States. Palliative care
focuses on providing comfort and
support to patients living with a
serious illness at any stage in their
disease management.
