Christmas. A little
cold / cooler weath
er will do it every
time. Best of all we
can keep the fire
place going.
December 16 seems to be the day for
many local churches to present their
Christmas special music. This is a good
time to begin that New Year’s Resolu
tion a little early and let your heart be
blessed with the music of this special
time of year.
Frederica Baptist Church Choir
will present their Christmas music
on December 16 at the 10:30 morning
worship. Along with the Handbells
they will present tills special program
that afternoon for the residents and
their families at Thrive.
Wesley United Methodist
Church at Frederica will present
special music on December 16. The
8:15 am service will be an abbreviated
service of lessons and carols featur
ing their recorder ensemble, Wesley
Ringers and congregational carols.
The children will present the musical
“Out Standing In These Fields” at the
9:00 service. The 10:45 service will be
a full service of lessons and carols with
the addition of the Chancel Choir and
Chamber Orchestra. Christmas Eve
services will be at 4:00 and 6:00, both
filled with music - celebration - can
dlelight and Holy Communion.
St. Simons Presbyterian Church
will present A Noel Celebration with
the Chancel Choir on December 16.
The Annual Live Nativity will be Fri
day and Saturday, December 21 and
22 from 6 to 7 pm. Christmas Eve will
offer a Candles and Carols Service with
Children’s Nativity Tableau at 5:30
pm and a Christmas Eve Communion
at 10:00 pm. Sympathy is expressed
to the family and friends of Mary Jo
Leary and to the family and friends
of Tom Ellington. Congratulations to
John and Bonnie Turner on the birth
of their daughter Delta Katherine.
Arco United Methodist Church
will have Christmas Eve service at
5:00 pm.
St. Simons First Baptist Church
will have Christmas Eve service at
5:30 pm.
St. Simons United Methodist
Church will present “Sing Christmas”
in one service on December 16 at 10:30
am. Discover how the light of Christ
still shines even in dark days at “The
Longest Night” a reflective service time
of healing and hope on December 20
at 6:00 in the Chapel. Christmas Eve
Candlelight Communion Services will
be at 6:00 in the Sanctuary and 11:00
in the Chapel. Sympathy is expressed
to Paige Tiller in the death of her fa
ther Dr Gary Holmes.
Glyndale Baptist Church extends
sympathy to Ruby Webb and family in
the loss of her sister Ms. Judy Purvis.
Christmas Cantata will be presented
on December 16 at the 10:30 morning
worship service.

Christmas Concert
Celebrate Christmas with David Mas-
terson, acclaimed concert pianist, Beth
Allen-Gardner, award winning soprano
soloist, Cole Freeman, classical violinist,
Yuriy Leonovich, award winning cellist
for composition and performance, Ali-
yah Schneider, protege soprano and Don
Naysmith, lyric tenor on December 14 at
7 PM at a Christmas Concert held at the
Jekyll Island Convention Center.

third year for what has become an an
nual tradition The event, sponsored by
Caroline’s Gifts & Flowers and the Jekyll
Island Authority, selections will include
from traditional Christmas carols and
songs to beloved classical pieces. Every
one is welcome. Admission is free.
